MoFi Sourcepoint 888 Speakers
@mapman  Thanks for that info. @immatthewj  Thanks for the good wishes.
OK Audiogon, help me out please
Both brands have different sounds. It isn't possible for members to help you if they don't know your sonic priorities.

I was surprised to find the latest Stereophile in my mailbox today with a review of the 888’s. John Atkinson loved them. @immatthewj I think that's what I've usually understood; that is that minimum impedance is more important than efficiency re...
MoFi Sourcepoint 888 Speakers
I’m using an old, much modified Mac, but despite being somewhat inefficient, they don’t drop below 4.6 ohms I think, so they’re not very hard to drive. I’m getting plenty of oomph. Today I got my chest pushed in a bit by Peter Gabriel’s "This is ...

Thanks @ozzy62 . It feels even better when you realize that it's an improvement, not just a different flavor.

@waytoomuchstuff  They were certainly a brilliant design. I had the klipschorns back in 1976, and I loved them for years too, but I believe the Epics were a better speaker overall.

MoFi Sourcepoint 888 Speakers
Thanks @mapman. I neglected to mention one of their strong attributes that I really value in a speaker, which is coherence. It was one of the things that made me stay with the Klipsch Epic CF 4’s for so long despite some other minor failings. Once...
Does your system "rock"?!?! NO? ADD MORE ROCKS!!
Seems like a crackpot. He doesn't even show his system!
???Safely Trading Gear Between Private Parties???
Not sure what you mean. I suppose it's impossible on audiogon because they get their fee and percentage, but you can solicit trades on USAM.
A new horn is brewing in the cauldron?
@acresverde Thanks for that one! It is a common and inexcusable error. I have a close friend who uses it that way all of the time in texts, and I just grit my teeth. She also writes ect instead of etc, no matter how many times I write etc, and ...

@stuartk  I'm with you. I don't get it either.
Music/Life
@larsman  Thanks for the correction. I've never been one of his fans, so I just made a guess.
A new horn is brewing in the cauldron?
Also, your instead of you're.
Music/Life
I'll say fade away. I lost my best friend and a brother who was very dear to me because although both were joyful beings, they paid little attention to their physical well-being. I wish that they were still here to enjoy life with me, and eventual...
