WTF Audio Cables: A Review I actually wasn't saying that all ribbon cables were the same, just that there have been others.
WTF Audio Cables: A Review Ribbon cables aren't new. Mapleshade comes to mind. I used an obscure brand from Australia that I got for free with an amp I bought from an Audiogon member. I like them very much and only retired them when I bought Cerious Technologies Graphene Ex...
Dahlquist DQ10 They have a way of making you feel that the performers are in the room with you, but of course like any other speaker they have their shortfalls. Still enjoyable. I owned the DQ 20s for a few years and enjoyed them.
Is ground noise really normal? If so, why? millercarbon,"near dead silent white noise"...is that a thing?
To power strip or not I use a power strip out of necessity, and about 10 years ago I upgraded from a cheap generic to a Tripp Lite with all outlets star grounded, and it was an audible improvement. I also have it raised off the floor on cable lifters that I made.
Please Make Audiogon Cool That response actually made me laugh out loud Erik! If I wasn't already married...
Your last concert was to see who and when? Steve Hackett (formerly of Genesis long ago) at the Van Buren in Phoenix on Thursday. I saw him at the same place a little over a year ago, and he was great again. Great supporting band and wonderful sound. He's very worth seeing if he comes your ...
HAIL TO THE KING..GINGER BAKER Love Ginger, really love Cream, but think your assessment is hyperbole. Each drummer brings something different. I think Mitch Mitchell was an amazing innovator in rock, but he won’t replace Ginger and so on...I know we're Americans, but not every...
Most annoying song, period. dtximages,I have to agree with you about their version of Africa. I don't find it annoying, but they certainly didn't add anything to it. The guitar has a little more crunch to it, but the vocal harmonies are not mixed in the correct balance, whic...
Amps with meters ... Thinking about displays, I'm remembering the old Marantz receivers. Myself and two friends each had one , and I never got tired of looking at them in the dark. They were so elegant, and that horizontal tuning wheel felt so luxurious. I felt like I...
Amps with meters ... Erik, you're always so provocative in a good natured way. As a very long term owner of a Mac 2105, who owned a 2100 before that (the version with no meters) I would have to say that they really don't mean anything to me. I enjoyed the 2100 just as...
B&W - THE Nautilus. I have to give a no vote. For what you would pay and all of the trouble of multiple amplifiers and an active crossover, there are just so many other very desirable high performance speakers out there that are interesting to look at in their own wa...
Anyone listening to Robert Plant's podcasts? Who would have thought Old Pruneface would be doing podcasts?
sellers trying to sell used product for 10-20% off of list price Excuse me for saying so OP, but I am in retail and I can smell your type from a mile away. You are the type of difficult customer that no retailer wants, but sells to anyway for a couple of reasons. 1) They're having a bad week and it's a big tick...
Most annoying song, period. 3:51pmI know what you mean--i was stunned to see the Live version of Hotel California listed--then i wondered which live version? Surely it can't be the one on Hell Freezes Over--i use that one to demo speakers ! If it is the one he/she's talkin... |
