Why no as many post about music vs equipment......
We should be careful what we wish for. Look at what happened to the hardware side of this thing once THEY became involved. If THEY get too much into music we will all end up listening to our Krall LP on a $100,000 turntable. Oh, for the good old d...

"Because Audiophile people are assholes"You may think so, but a lot of us could not possibly comment.
Nutcracker ballet on blu-ray any recommendations?
As I recall, The San Franciso Ballet was one of the participants in the so-called Battle. I think they decided that Bolshoi 'won'. Not sure about that. They were all wonderful. I will get at least one Nutcracker DVD this year.Cheers
Why no as many post about music vs equipment......
All of the above posts are so true. So good to actually see posts like these on this site. I tend to forget these truths, but if I remembered them all the time, there would very few opportunities or reasons to weigh in on threads, and I do like to...
Sennheiser HD 700s need a lot of break-in?
If you listen, say, an hour a day thru phones, you can let us know NEXT Christmas how those babies really sound.

Dave Brubeck...we lost a legend today
He was neither Legend nor Pioneer. He was known for one tune off of one LP. He did have a long life and long career, In that respect he was blessed. I did not know him, but all I have heard and read, indicates he was a good person. A gentleman. Mo...

Glenn Gould piano recording of Beethoven
"you pretty has to play the way Beethoven intended"Isn't that the point of playing Beethoven? That's why he wrote it down on paper and put all those notations in Italian on the page. It ain't Jazz.
are all sacd players the same?
" I know that a cd dac at 1000$ is going to be pretty different than a Berkeley or similar at 5k"Really? How do you KNOW this? They all the sound the same, UNLESS, one has had it's frequency response or noise level 'tweaked' to sound a certain way...
The best classic reel to reel tape recorders
I owned the A-77 and the Technics 1506 / 1502. I bought the 2 track head assembly. Hard to remember the sound from such a long time ago, but I liked the build quality, size and design of the A-77 best. Still have the 1506 in a closet. Sold the two...
Best reasonably priced classic hi-end tuner
Its not a vintage classic tuner, but maybe a modern classic, the Sony XDR-F1HD. Mine cost $85 new, on Amazon. No longer in production, but neither are the vintage classics. I think it was called the best tuner ever by one reviewer. It solved all m...
Correct way to burn in a new CD/SACD player
By 'clue', I meant, obviously the manufacturer does not think 'break-in' is a factor in the performcance of the item in question.Manufacturers do put the important stuff in the manual. Voltage requirement, safety do's and don'ts. Some speakers that...
