The Hardest Naturally Occurring Substance on Earth
The space, "found between human ears", is much more confined.     Yes; the vacuous ARE, "an unpleasant experience".

WELL; there IS such a thing as a, "hard" vacuum!      https://www.quora.com/What-is-hard-vacuum
Choosing a tube amp for bi-amping just the mids and high frequency. EP4.7s
At least you have tunes to enjoy, in the interim.       Given that you're in need of a preamp and active x-over; I'd be inclined toward the X4.                        Especially: as it's designed for home, rather than pro, audio.       Just my opi...

As little as I’ve ever cared for their cartridges, Shure does (or, at least, should) know a few things regarding stylus wear: https://service.shure.com/s/article/stylus-wear-and-record-wear?language=en_US

@flavo-      Any updates on your quest?
Peachtree Grand X1 question
Glad to help.     Enjoy your tunes!
Peachtree Grand X1 question
Yes; that would typically be normal, in a tubed component with a, "Standby" option.       Regarding B+:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5hOm3b3RnA
Peachtree Grand X1 question
The typical tubed component, when in, "Standby" will keep the filaments/heaters on (some, at half voltage), but- without B+ to the plates.
Why Don't More People Into Music Reproduction At Home Play Around With Musical Instruments
I completely agree with your first paragraph’s premise, though it should be recognized; many aren’t thusly concerned.        Also: same query as yogiboy’s (where you get your stats).
What to do with pre-owned vinyl?
Salvation Army, +1.     Also; many public Libraries have vinyl collections and donations are tax deductible.     Get a receipt, if you feel valuation exceeds $250.00:     https://extranet.winnefox.org/sites/extranet.winnefox.org/files/Donations%2...
Are these Speakers the BEST on Planet Earth ?...
And here I thought I was doing at least one thing, in my life, that was, "normal".      ie: https://www.quora.com/What-are-guitar-string-frequencies                 Whatever Mr Cox’s goal; he hit it out of the park, with the SVT.
Are these Speakers the BEST on Planet Earth ?...
@atmasphere -   Yep, E2’s low note on my guitars.     Standard Bass guitar goes an octave lower.    Conflation (touche')!
I'm here for the enthusiasts, not the snobbery
Scheib's commercials still haunt me:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkdtOOYdQOs
Are these Speakers the BEST on Planet Earth ?...
@jmforge- The lowest Bass Guitar note is E2 (82.4 Hz).       There were/are a variety of speaker cabinets, designed to accompany the SVT amp.      Some for practice and some for moving real air, at one (individual) instrument’s primary frequencies...

Plus one for scale.        When I hear complaints about systems being unable to deliver the dynamics and size of a live orchestra, I guess they’ve never heard any of the IRS Series (even the Beta), with (say) a pair of VTL 300s.               Perh...
