Gruv Glide - Do you use it? No, I like clean records.
Kimber KS 3035 vs Nordost Valhalla speaker cables IMO Valhalla speaker cable are probably a better match with tube amps. When I had them in my system, they leaned out the mid bass and pushed the treble out ( not meaning bright) too much. MIT are a superior match for my amps and speakers. I still ...

Aluminum Foil test for Audio Desk Vinyl Cleaner You should only use the audio deske solution in that machine. Speaking for myself, records I get and clean for the first time, I do it outside of the audio Deske. I use audio intelligent solutions with a mofi or disk doctor scrubber, clean and wip...
Stillpoints LP Isolator Record Weight Of all the clamps/weights I have owned, the Stillpoints LP 1 has been the best by far. I have 7 more of them I use on top of my components. Significant benefit using them that way too.
Phantom + A90 question Hi bill,With unipivot bearings, they visually ride the groove different from gimble, quote on quote level heads shell with gimble type arms. You need a fozgometer to get it right with a graham, IMO. So even if the mate between cart and head shell ...
Phantom + A90 question I am going to take a closer look at my A90 mount. It didn't even think it was an issue. Perhaps a can of worms is now open, perhaps it's a non issue. My sound has been fantastic with the Supreme/A90 combo and the Supreme/Coralstone combo. I use a ...
Parallel? How do you set the VTA? Get a Graham Phantom Supreme and your worries about consistently setting the correct VTA in seconds for every record thickness is over. The bubble level built into the pivot tower makes all the difference. Too bad other tonearm manufacturers don't...
To ring or not to ring? I could never imagine using a turntable w/o vacuum hold down or a periphery ring. I like consistent VTA/VTF. Any edge warp at all without a ring and you won't have consistent vta/vtf during playback. Not to mention there is more wear and tear on t...
clearaudio satisy tonearm bearings Contact Musical Surroundings, the North American Clearaudio distributor. May their tech person can help.
Kuzma 4 Point owners - Do you use damping? Using the damping trough empty is not a good idea. It is there for a reason. I don't have the kuzma, but do have a graham supreme. I put damping fluid in my trough. I am sure kuzma tells you how much to start out with. Less is more.
Setting tonearm angle? I bought mine from a photo website. It is a Gitzo Tripod bubble level replacement. Here is onehttp://www.outdoorphotogear.com/store/gitzo-replacement-bubble-level-for-tripods-and-leveling-bases.htmlYup, I do that added weight to compensate for the...
Setting tonearm angle? 01-06-13: Wolf_garciaI got a tiny bubble level for my Akito and set it on the flat top above the cartridge and levelled it. Seems to have done the job and the cart tracks perfectly. If you don't have a Graham Phantom Supreme which seems to be the ...
Audio Desk Record Cleaner-Anyone buy one yet As an auto deske owner here's my take. It's a great finish cleaning unit. If your records are old or even new but have mold release gunk, mold or fingerprint oils, the auto deske will not clean them. For best results...ie cleaning for the first ti...
Direct drive vs belt vs rim vs idler arm Tony,The issue I see with test record frequency measurements is that on the test record, groove anomalies and the good possibility that the test record center hole is not exactly center can throw off the measurements. Prior to using the laser read... |
