DCM Time Window 1 questions
This is an old thread! I am now using my third pair of TWs. I had two pairs in the late '70s- early '80s. The present pair (52779, 52780) cost $219 + shipping. They sold for $1200 new. I am using a BEL 1001 amp with them. 50wpc Class A. The TWs ar...
Pass 260.8 owners...Question
I will venture a guess that there is a difference in capacitance between your old and new cables. And the Pass amps are sensitive to this variation of capacitance. All wire (from zip cord to the most complex) presents differing  R + L + C (Resista...
How Much Have Turntables and Arms Improved in 35 Years
I am a collector of vintage TTs. I have that VPI HW19 II. It is an excellent TT! With an excellent arm (like the ET) it is competitive with today's four-figure TTs. To do better you will have to buy a five-figure TT/arm ($10K+). A cartridge upgrad...

Add a zero to what you paid for the VPI/ET! But if you still enjoy the sound why change? Try a cartridge upgrade instead.
Bridged amps
Generally no! Because each amp will then be driving 1/2 the impedance compared to In stereo mode. This means that output current doubles! Not good! And distortion increases.

Your new speaker cables should have no effect upon the warmup time for the Pass amps, which I presume are biased high-Class A.
Pass 260.8 owners...Question
All transistor amps benefit from being left on 24/7. However, amps that are Class A or biased in high-Class A are best turned off at the end of listening due to excessive heat. These benefit from a prior warmup (1/2 to 1 hour) before use.
In the middle of a pandemic, Stereophile reviews ~ $30K equipment
Borresen? A bit late to the game! Magico's first speaker was a stand-mount that cost $29K/pair! Years ago! And it was on the cover of TAS, where Jonathan Valin gave it a drool-worthy review!

Hi End Audio is based upon fantasy and expectation bias. Welcome to the New Depression and the end (almost) of the Hi End!

How about that $53K SAT (Swedish Audio Technology) tonearm that MF reviewed (and praised) recently! And the previous model was only a mere $30K! Now if it could show the time and be worn on the wrist ...

Sid Smith (the original USA Marantz company designer) used the EL34's for all those amps of the Fifties: Models 2, 5, 8 and 9. In that era the Marantz amps were considered the best available!

Go for the 80/40/30 cans!
Just confused
I'd remove the spikes and install rubber cones in their place! That's all I'd do!
