Ampeg Reverberocket 212 Reissue or Fender Hot Rod Deluxe?
I had a 1966 Ampeg Reverbrocket with just one 12" CTS speaker. It had a pair of 7591's PP for 30 watts. Loud but manageable!
The problem with speakers
Indigestion after lunch, eh Kenjit?
Best modern 6550 tube for ARC per-amp
ARC used the Russian SED "winged c" 6550 tubes. These may no longer be available. A good alternate would be a NOS Sylvania or Philips 6550.

Any 6550 will work fine! That tube is a voltage pass-regulator in the power supply. It is used to regulate the B+ voltage. The music signal does NOT go through it! No effect upon sound quality!
Opening Record Store
Waste of $10K! If such a powerhouse as Tower Records with 130 stores couldn't succeed with brick-and-mortar stores ... used-record sales are best done online.
Honest Amp Reviews: Impossible?
That Purifi Eigentakt amp looks (and sounds!) like a real winner!
Pass 600.8 monoblocks worth upgrade from 260.8?
34 to 50 watts! And double the price? LOL!
What s the best Class A integrated tube amp over 80W
Such a thing does not exist! Your room is too small for those electrostats! A Pass amp can't take that long to reach optimal temperature! My Bedini class A amp reached maximum temperature in about 30 minutes.
Artists you only know through their greatest hits
Zaeger & Evans: In The Year 2525 - a one-hit wonder! I might have the LP in my collection . This was a big hit in 1970!
Best Patricia Barber or Keith Jarrett Album ?
Those sidemen are: Jan Garbarek and Charlie Haden! Top notch!
I was literally minutes from purchasing the Special 40's...
I amend my previous comments. Look for a used pair of the Harbeth P3ESR's at about half-price! This represents a good value in today's currency!
Ar ethe current LP's available for $25 or so as goos as the old ones.
Lacquer-cutting on a lathe from an analog master tape is an art in itself!

@chakster : You are spot on! I always try to buy original pressings. The new repressings sourced from digital files are not for me! I can just listen to a CD instead and not be concerned with the surface quality!
What speaker – under $10k – has the best timbre and tonal qualities?
@mapman : I have a pair of the older Walsh Sound Cylinders. They must be experienced to be believed! 3 - D imaging from anywhere in the room! Uncanny!

Peter Walker's Wonder - the Quad 57! "We don't think our speaker is the best - only that all the others are worse!" - PW
