Your TV will have RCA audio-out jacks to connect to a receiver/preamp.
Preamp and receiver together with power amplifier ?.? Help
Yes, a separate preamp should sound better than the receiver! Buy a Denon preamp to match with the Denon amp! There is a Denon PRA-1000 preamp for sale right now on EBAY. $375 + $45 shipping from NC. Seller is "harenceg" - the original owner. I'd ...
Preamp and receiver together with power amplifier ?.? Help
If you had a preamp then no need for a receiver! Unless you want to listen to AM/FM radio. Then you would use an interconnect from "tape out" jacks on the receiver into an "aux" input on the preamp.

What are fuses used for?
They are used to prevent damage to electric circuits from excess current. A fuse is a fine piece of wire with a selected melting point placed in series with one leg of the incoming AC voltage/current. If an electronic device draws too much current...

The last NY Audio Show I attended was back in June 1996 at the Waldorf. I remember the Wilson/CJ room sounding particularly fine!
