You would do much better by considering gently used speakers. A pair of Gallo Ref. 3.1s will walk all over anything you can find for $1500 new. Remember, quality speakers have a lifespan of decades, buying something 2-3 years old is the smart thin...

It appears that the cable you have spliced into led to a phono preamp. It would seem that you need to find another avenue (line level) into the amp in order to get proper volume .-RW-
