Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive? GMC Denali 1500 daily, Ferrari F430 on weekends, and a Porsche 968 race car on track days. Radio in the Ferrari stinks.
External clock for EmmLabs The DAC2 re-syncs the clock internally, so an external clock is pointless. That's how it eliminates jitter from USB sources. It reads the data into a buffer then outputs the buffer to the D/A section via it's own clock, ensuring accurate timing of...
Hi End Pre-Amp shoot out in central jersey? Jafox,I know that (the EE in me figured it out as well) but was trying to be diplomatic. As you say, and now back to our regularly scheduled program;)..............

Hi End Pre-Amp shoot out in central jersey? Hi Seldon,I'd love to hear the Lamm, I've heard some of his power amps before and thought them very musical. I am not sure what to make of Mechans post either, but hey, it's a public forum and everyone should have the right to express themselves.B...
Hi End Pre-Amp shoot out in central jersey? Hi,Sorry, the pre-amp is the MP1, not the MA1, my error. I am holding off publishing my review of the Dart vs. the Atma until I can hear it again. To be fair, it was too short a session and one of the pre-amps was cold while the other was warmed u...
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive? 2008 911S. First car I ever ordered without the upgraded sound system, I just didn't see the point. Sound system in this car is mediocore, at best. I don't really care;)
Loud Dimmer Switches Moonguy:Basic dimmers are usually designed to work with line voltage incandescent loads. If you are using them to drive transformers (such as MR16 lamps or other halogen), they may buzz. A dimmer designed for inductive (transformer) loads will be ...
Music for toddlers and parents? When my son was about 16 months old, I played Beethoven's 5th paino concerto for him, he loved it, loud. What's wrong with Mahler and ZZ Top? I guess it depends, are you trying to "raise" kids or "lower" parents? Just a thought...........Never did ...
Audio Research VTM 120 .......any experience? Used the VT100 MK3 with the Ascents, very good combination. Previously had a big beefy solid state amp (Clasee 301) and thought the 100 WPC VT 100 sounded much better.
EMMLabs CDSD firmware v25 update That was done per a problem I had with the fast forward/baclward behaviour of the transport. My transport would not scan when I held down the correct key, the update corrected that problem.Ron
ARC amps and 6550C Winged "C" small pins I had the same thing, replaced ARC tubes with tubes from Upscale Audio, no problem. Then replaced the Upscale tubes with Tube store, the pins seemed a little loose in sockets. In the end, I just left them in (VTM200) and they never gave me any prob...

Bass Drivers - Quickest / Best Way to Break In? I have had similar problems, and room placement and treatment was the answer. I would move the speakers forward or back into the room by a couple of feet.
Speaker power rating and amplification??? Your welcome. Just to clarify, the "dial" position is not related to the power output of the amp, rather, it has to do with the voltage gain of the amp. All things equal, usually lower voltage gain and more "dial" is better; you want to take the v... |
