New lease on life for a pair of Ohm F's
I will second the repair from Millersound as well.I also had a pair of these and will agree that a high quality solid state amp will drive these speakers extremely well.

I don't know what it is really called, but if I am listening to Eric Clapton Unplugged he better be in my room between my speakers playing, breathing and running his fingers up and down the neck of his guitar as was recorded;I prefer to call it acc...

Tube Amplifier for Thiel
I think audiovalve challanger 180 monoblocks would do a fine job with the thiel's;180 watts class A using KT-88's.I run these on my soundlab m2's and they perform as well as my roland model 6 monoblocks.German made very high quality, great looks an...
So what's a good preamp?
If you are interested in solid state I think Klyne makes one of the best pre amps; as tubed goes you already have heard from what I consider the leaders.
Is there a perfect speaker?
The only perfect speaker would be a human;I think there are several speakers that get very close but there is always something.I had a pair of dunlavy scIII;s that I thought I would never part with but I did for a pair of soundlab m2's that are st...

450 Pound Monobloc Amplifier
I think Mapman is correct I have not seen any shootouts of class D vs pure class A either tube or solid state.
