Magico A3 or A1+Sub OK thanks for the info on the room. @ozzy62 get some coffee and make sure the glass is half full....LOL. I have a couple of thoughts on how approach this and make use of your excellent Sim gear. If you're into EDM you will really want to hea...
Magico A3 or A1+Sub Hard to weigh in on a recommendation without knowing much about the listening room and what's driving the speakers. I'm sure you would get better responses if there was a better picture of the room and what your listening goals are.
Which power cord should you buy first Some say that there is a benefit to keeping the cables consistent throughout the signal chain. Same cable for DAC, same for power amp etc.
Echoey walls and dust mites I would start with a large wood diffuser on the front wall. Vicoustics makes some full absorbers that should work on the ceiling.
??? How Much Would You Spend ??? The biggest mistake most people make is under investing in the preamp. Weather it be a standalone or an integrated. Don't be that guy! Good luck with your new system.
Sonus Faber Il Cremonese vs Lilium I can't comment on the comparison since I've not heard the Il Cremonese. My friend has the Liliums and they are special. Defiantly on the warm side of the spectrum. He runs them in a fully treated room that's about 14x22ft with standard height c...
Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) I have a few friends with very good systems that are using the Clarus Duet. Not sure if there is any power conditioning.
Pre Amp suggestions for Sonus Faber Olympica III w/ x250.8 I think you will be very happy with the sound profile of the SIMM, they make really nice sounding stuff. As an alternative, maybe take a look at the Hegel P30, mostly neutral and will work with HT. Mac & SF are often paired b/c they have the...
Separates vs Integrated In my experience, separates will usually prevail b/c they're further up the food chain then most integrateds and are made from better parts and engineering. Having said that, the latest few generations of dual mono integrates are getting really c...
Speakers low pitch humming, is it normal, or real issue with preamp? I agree with @soix could be a ground loop. I would try his solution and see if that eliminates the issue. If it does, try plugging the pre into an outlet on a different house circuit.
What's Up With Jane's Addiction? @viridian Priceless, thank you for that. my comment is just two words: Detox & therapy.
An integrated bargain? Bargain means something different to everyone. Now that’s out of the way, the SimAudio equipment is excellent and worth a listen. I’m a little puzzled that Sim doesn’t have a bigger presence in USA. I really like their digital gear, both source an...
JL Audio SA-600w subwoofer amp for non-JL audio subs? I have JL Fathom subs in my main listening room and a Crown amp running my outdoor sub.....I'm very familiar with both. If the connections match up for you, I would give the JL amp a try. They punch above their weight, I believe the wattages the...
Where to find OEM Dali Epicon woofer? Hmmm...blown woofers usually still make sound. Check the connections and if the speaker has multiple binding posts make sure the jumpers are fastened correctly. Good luck
Wireless speakers We might be of more help if we knew your budget? |
