Fyne Audio - New Speakers Displayed in Munich They sounded very good, like a top Tannoy I’d say.
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC I’ve heard the DAC in my system, it sounds lovely, pure as a pure thing, no hint of any distortion.
Moving from Harbeth m30.1 to m30.2 XD The C7ES3 XD is indeed an amazing speaker for the money, I much preferred it to the M30.2 XD.
Dumping it all for Lyngdorf??? I have a TDAI 1120 in my second system. It’s a fantastic box of tricks. I prefer it without Room Correction and but with some Custom tweaks I apply in the Voicings. For me, it doesn’t quite cut it for a main system.
Go Cat8! I’ve tried fiberoptic converters in several implementations in my system and it’s always sounded thin, lacking real natural tone of instruments and voices. I think its the conversion of photons back to electrons at the receiving end that generates...

Burn in period If you can’t hear any difference in sound from a high quality cable freshly installed in a good system, to the same cable and system after a couple of hundred hours, it just means your ears aren’t as sensitive as someone who can. Different people ...
Playing CDs sounds better than Qobuz — dammit @adasdad - our pleasure 🙂
Playing CDs sounds better than Qobuz — dammit Whatever you choose, the attention paid to the network delivering the data, plus the PSU for the streamer are critical and will hugely improve the sound quality. I’ve found the iFi iPower Elite exceptionally good. Try one with a used Auralic Aries...
Playing CDs sounds better than Qobuz — dammit CD has jitter built in. The music data is combined with the clock signal on the CD, it’s basically flawed from the start. With streaming the data is separate to the clock. More precise.
Playing CDs sounds better than Qobuz — dammit Quobuz is way better than CD in my system, but that only came about with correct implementation and filtering of the wired Ethernet network.
Amplfiers that Sound like Pass 30.8 that are not so heavy I love AGD. Best I’ve had
To extend Ethernet to remote location, are Powerline extenders or Mesh systems better? @soix Yes to all you ask. My recommendation is in my post, either will work, you just need to clean it up afterwards using a buffer switch and passive Ethernet Filter. Disclaimer. I make the ENO Ethernet Filter.
To extend Ethernet to remote location, are Powerline extenders or Mesh systems better? @jerrybj using optical will eliminate noise from the source, the problem is though, it sounds bad, thin, edgy, image is in a letterbox between the speakers. The reason for that is the very process of converting light back into electricity (at the...
To extend Ethernet to remote location, are Powerline extenders or Mesh systems better? All extenders, either WiFi based or ‘over the mains’ based will put unwanted noise out along with the Ethernet signal via their RJ45 socket. If you using either of these devices then simple steps can be taken to remove as much unwanted noise as p... |
