Pure analog system with high power Oh, here’s a link to an old listing that has a pic of the sales brochure on it.https://www.audioexchange.co.za/product/legacy-audio-power-amplifier/
Pure analog system with high power @adversamI’m using an Audio Research Corporation LS-25 MkII.Thus far I’m pretty sold on the “tube pre/SS power” combo. Great imaging, open airy highs, and a real authoritative grip on the low end. Overall, I’d characterize the sound of the amp as ...
Pure analog system with high power https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lisaa60f-legacy-audio-ultra-high-current-amp-coda-ls96-ls200-pass-solid-state 1st 50w class A sliding into class A/B 250w 8ohm 400w 4ohm. Tons of current (50a). Sounds amazing. Bought one of these in lieu of a Br...
Matching components? Honestly... I’m extremely pleased to have a system that sounds, to my ears, “pretty damned good”. I take great cheer in knowing that it will only get better as I move forward upgrading my front end, cabling, isolation, etc.incidentally, my same am...
Matching components? Not gonna lie, as far as appearance goes... I do rather fancy a badass stack of ARC gear... but i suppose neither my wallet nor my ears will be best served by vanity...thx for all your input!
What is an audiophile? Are you an audiophile? I’ve been accused of being an audiophile by friends. Granted, they fall into the “happy with my soundbar”camp... I generally get embarrassed and mumble something to the effect that, no, audiophiles use $4k speaker cables and understand impedance ...
Matching components? Yes, Mr. Miller, I’ve seen the pictures of your system. I’ve actually used those pics to rebut friends’ claims that I’m getting “carried away” with my own modest system.guessing that took a fair bit of experimentation to achieve.
Matching components? I prefer my amp and preamp to be from the same manufacturerAs much as I would like to have gone this route, a high output ARC power amp was well outside my budget. I’m actually really happy with my Legacy/CODA amp, and I feel like, at $600, it was...
Do you care about car audio? Car audio is like Home Theater: a great way to burn money that could have been spent on your stereo, where you would at least have some really good sound to show for it.Exactly this.About a decade ago I was really into car stereo. Kitted my Lincol...
Matching components? Matching is mostly impedance matchingI’m hip to that. My LS-25 is 300ohm out to my Legacy amp’s 50kohm in, so I’m good there. A little math also showed that my pre has sufficient output voltage to drive my amp to full power.
Lithuanian Tube Gear?! Tbh, wasn’t seriously considering buying... saw one of the phono stages on Craigslist and looked up the brand; it piqued my curiosity. For the sake of conversation, tho... if the designer of some obscure gear like this was willing to provide a sche...
Lithuanian Tube Gear?! That’s kind of what I thought... kind of similar aesthetic to the Decware gear I’ve looked at. Curious as to what’s going on under the hood tho. I do know that Walter at Underwood HiFi is marketing a Lithuanian speaker that’s supposed to be pretty...
Looking for recommendations for a pair of full range speakers for ~8k or under @km1181I hate to jump on the “buy what I bought!” bandwagon, but... I was also looking into a pair of pre-owned Sonus Faber, but after reading some glowing reviews and talking to a couple of very satisfied owners, I ended up buying a new pair of L...
Black Ice FX DAC set up @mastering92 yeah I tried the https. I also tried logging in as admin to my router, see if it was detecting the dac. Nada. I dunno... networking solutions not really my schtick. The network adapter in the DAC is from some Taiwanese company called ...
Beginner Looking For Set Up Advice! Personally, I can’t recommend the Yamaha. It was my dissatisfaction with my Yamaha integrated that led to my latest foray into hi fi gear. Can’t imagine their entry level stuff is any better. As far as an external streaming solution goes, have you... |
