Original Legacy Studio Speakers
@bajaed  Nothing particularly juicy, just a flurry of random spam posts. At least it wasn’t research chems or bootleg viagara this time. But since that spam put this thread back in rotation… I ended up concurring with your assessment of LSA’s be...

I think I just smoked my Amp
@atmasphere  You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! You totally nailed it, replacing the fuse got it back up and running. Feeling a little sheepish that I didn’t figure that one out on my own. I replaced the fuse with an mdq-8, as indicated by ...
Warming up digital in my setup
I would definitely start with upgrading your source. I started out feeding my dac with an iPhone, and it was terrible. I bought an Auralic Aries, and it was a night and day difference. My streaming (Tidal masters) SQ now beats the pants off red b...

Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. The status of my D400 remains unchanged. Visual inspection didn’t reveal any possibility of shorted speaker cables. I spent most of the day driving to retrieve my CODA amplifier from storage; maybe...
B.S. Node 2i brick (yet another one)
@2psyop  Well done, sir! It’s nice coming across instances of persons genuinely supporting one another around a shared passion. Seems like the world could use a lot more of that lately. Again, well done.
SkyfiAudio
I’d always heard that their prices are outrageous, but I just ordered a pair of Thiel MCS1 from them, and the price, including shipping, was lower than several other pairs I’ve seen for sale in worse cosmetic shape, for sale by sellers who were un...
Help me spend $6000
@jeffseight My take on it was that you guys did something that was of value to the audio community, and that it must have been as fun as it was informative. Additionally, I didn’t find the minor criticisms of methodology and cabling to temper th...
Help me spend $6000
@jeffseight  sorry for the hijack, but is your club the one that did that infamous DAC shootout?
Noisy Right Channel
Thanks guys… I popped the case open and swapped the left channel tube with the right channel tube, and the noise I was hearing followed the tube and is now coming through my left channel. Cool. Should I be concerned about continuing to use my prea...
