The Tubes
The Tubes are one of my favorite bands. I saw them in 1978 or 1979, which is basically the same show as is immortalized on their live album "What do you want from live?" They were a pretty popular rock band at that time and their popularity probab...

Power amp for Reference 3A speakers?
Not knowing your budget, I agree with Saki70's recommendation. By all accounts it is a fine amp and they tend to be easy to re-sell if you don't love it.
Power amp for Reference 3A speakers?
That is a fine speaker. Personally, I liked tubes with mine. I used several different tube amps ranging in power between 1.5-5 watt/channel SET tube amps to 30 watt/channel P-P tube amps. All produced plenty of volume in my smallish room, but the ...

what concerts do you wish you attended?
I just bought tickets to see Willie Nelson this summer. I didn't want Willie to be on my list of "artist I regret never seeing". I really wish I had made the effort to see Johnny Case before he passed away....TIC

Anyone heard Blueground Undergrass? I heard one of their live recordings on a college station in the either Tennessee or North Carolina. It was awesome!
Nearfield listening

grounding issue
Do you have cable or satellite TV? If so, try disconnecting the coax cable connecting the cable/satellite to your TV/system. This is a very common cause of a ground loop which produces a hum.If this fixes the problem, you can put an isolator on th...

"Upconverting to HDMI" as it relates to the Onkyos means you can connect any type of video source (analog or digital) and the receiver will perform switching and "upconvert" any signal to HDMI output. This allows you to connect VCR (analog composi...
