Favorite moment with music in your car.
One evening, high school ‘70, and the 5/8” thick homemade plywood boxes with 5” round speakers in my VW bug’s backseat well (dampened with plexiglass lathe shavings) somehow harmonically synced to ELP’s “Lucky Man” and the whole car seemed to shak...
OPpo 205.... Awesome !!
No TV is involved, however, I do have an 8" Eyoyo lcd monitor attached so I can navigate the DVD and BluRay disc menus.... I have no surround sound...stereo only. When listening I almost always use the "Pure Audio" feature because (to me) the SQ ...
OPpo 205.... Awesome !!
It has a repeat function, but that would play the whole cd over and over. This is sporadic….goes for days with no issue and then I notice I’ve listened to the same song for the 3rd time…
OPpo 205.... Awesome !!
I’m happy with my Modwright oppo 205 but, weirdly enough, sometimes it starts repeating a track (track 5 or 7) and I can’t figure out how to fix it. Very annoying. Rebooting it doesn’t work. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix it?
Weirdest record defect?
That calls for a rubber tone arm….
I don't get it...Exile on main Street-Blue
+1 tablejockey Mick Taylor  Rolling Stone initially sorta panned exile….3 and a half stars maybe. Then….they saw it for its shredded brilliance and rated it the best of the best at least a few times. To really appreciate exile please put your p...

Weirdest record defect?
It’s been awhile, but if I recall  correctly it was a single beat (coulda been more) it had to have been a rock album…..70’s (?)
Weirdest record defect?
It wasn't a defect, but at least one of my records (can't recall which) had a runout groove that maintained a drumbeat for as long as the record rotated. Thats probably why I invested in a tone arm lift device.
Differences in YouTube, Spotify, etc.
Don't listen closely to streamed music so YouTube Music is fine for me. I haven't compared with others, but when I'm at other peoples houses and am given the music selection reins, their "Up Next" algorithm rarely fails to provide hours of what i...
Do You Buy Speakers Without Hearing Them?
My first “real” speakers were AR3a’s back in the mid-70s, through the military mail-order store. A friend vouched for them and the reviews were positive; another friend in the Pacific fleet bought a Sansui 8 Deluxe receiver & an Akai reel-to-r...
I took Frank Zappa’s advice
Thanks to Frank, I now know the ugliest part of my body: My mind.
Favorite Obscure Rock Song
This cut is not strictly "rock", but it's one of my favorite cuts from this album....deserving of being heard. In the certified, but maybe not too obscure "rock" category I love "Wasted Union Blues" from the first It's a Beautiful Day album.
Led Zep Fool in the Rain
Back to the OP original question about why they never played Fool in the Rain live. If my research is correct, they released ITTOD in August 1979 (at a time when Page & Bonham were both struggling with addictions). Led Zeppelin only played 14...
A Few Nice Words For Upscale Audio
My dealings with them have always ended with me completely satisfied with the transaction.
