Times Must Be Good
I had a lot excellent service from several of manufactures (even big ones) in answering my questions, even if the questions where alway about relatively cheap equipment for less than $1000-2000 . Linn USA had really good telephone service. Naim, Q...
Best MM phono pre under $500 new or used
Sorry I am late for this thread as well. I got a Michell/Trichord Dino directly from Trichord several years back (for around $400 with a strong dollar). Might have been a good fit to your Tecnodec table for system synergy. It's a good combination ...
Tonearm rewire- Options?
The counterweight with the lower center of gravity should be better than the stock Origin Live counterweight. Several people have reported good results with an Expressimo Heavyweight on their silver arm. I am more worried about the bearings and th...
Tonearm rewire- Options?
If you are interested in silver wiring: The Michell Tecnoarm (A) (newest version) uses Deskadel silver wire. Very sparse information about the silver wiring can be found atwww.deskadel.comThe Tecnoarm is a heavily modified RB250. I wonder how it c...
Speakers for Naim Nait 5i Integrated.
I have heard Shahinian's Starters on a NAIT 3 at a dealer in Germany. In Europe the Shahinian are very often matched to Naim with excellent results. Take a look at http://www.shahinianacoustics.com/This should be a great match, in particular for c...
Kimber Hero vs Nordost Blue Heaven vs VDH mk iii
I have a Linn System (Genki, Wakonda, LK85) with Blue Heaven IC and Solar Wind speaker cable. I tried the Kimber PBJ and Hero in my system vs the Blue Heaven. The Blue Heaven showed much better synergy in this system, mainly because all the advant...
best turntable for 500$ or less
I would go for a used Rega P2 or P3 as well. The RB 250/300 tonearms are very good and can be used on a number of more expensive decks if you get hooked oo analog and you want to upgrade. The Denon cartridges are a good match. The high output MC D...
Opinions greatly appreciated
Why not a DL103 with a Creek? Last time I checked I used the 100 Ohm setting (same as Creek) on my Trichord Dino and the gain of the Creek should be good enough as well. The Creek is not as fast and detailed as say the Dino or a Lehmann Black cube...
Kimber Silver Streak vs. Nordost interconnects
I have a Linn System (Genki, Wakonda, LK85) with Blue Heaven IC and Solar Wind speaker cable. I cannot say much about the Silver Streak, but I tried the Kimber PBJ and Hero in my system. The Blue Heaven showed much better synergy in this system, m...

I would try a Denon DL 103, which can be had from Europe (Phonophono) for around $130. But Carl is right: You really have to have a very good Tonearm for that one, at least a Rega RB250 for example. I don't think there's a better MC out there for ...
Spacedeck compared with Gyrodec SE
If you are considering the Rega RB700, you might want to take a look at the Michell Tecnoarm as well. The Tecnoarm is a highly modified version of the RB250 (Counterweight, continuous Cardas rewire, additionally damped, bearings fine adjusted). Th...
VPI Scout or Michell Technodec?
The pulley on my technodec was loose as well when I got it. The pulley has small set screw on the side that I used to fix it to the motor (I needed a metric key). You have to be careful though that there is a small clearance from the pulley to the...
VPI Scout or Michell Technodec?
I just got my tecnodec. I am using it with a Denon DL103 and Trichord Dino phonostage. On first impressions. Super fast (even compared to the P3), much more detail that the Rega. I'll post more once I get to listen longer. Also: I have seen some g...
recommend a good computer and digital camera?
I would go with a Mac. One you switch to the Mac OS X operating system you will never go back. In particular if you are interested in image processing applications. You don't need to play games anyway, better to listen to you music collection. Oth...
Rega RB-300 tonearm with Incognito Rewire ?????
You could send it to Jerry Raskin's Needledoctor for the rewire. They are the official distributor for Incognito and will give you three years warranty for the rewired arm. Lauerman imports used to do it as well and give you the full (lifetime!?) ...
