Own a TW-Acustic Raven One?
RestockThe drive belt that TW use are not rubber. Apparently they are a mix of compounds specifically made for TW Acustics.Stiltskin, I guess DPS is sourcing their belts from the same place - from my examination they were awfully similar.

First thing VPI need to do ,is get rid of the motors they use and especially the silly RUBBER DRIVE BELTS.Stiltskin, isn't the Raven One using a rubber belt as well? Can you run the Raven with strings or tape? The issues of belts is a controversial ...
Best phono pre in the 500.00 price range Used
I second the P75 - it is a very fast detailed phono for the price.

suggest valve amplifier for Living Voice speakers
any one hearing Fi ampsI havent heard FI with LV but I do own the Fi Super X. 94 dB sensitivity with the LV IBX may be pushing it with the Fi 2A3 amps. However the 300b amps would be worth a consideration. Fi amps don't have a typical valve sound,...
Can anyone recommend a Phono Pre Amp?
Also some more comments for Zeal: If you are looking for a less dry sound a tube phono would be a good alternative:ARC PH3SE has good flow and is pretty solid performer overall, although quite a bit more expensive than some of the other suggestion...
Can anyone recommend a Phono Pre Amp?
Audiofeil, I didn't think the JLTI is at all grainy or edgy on top. However, the JLTI is high bandwidth and appears much more extended than most phono stages at first listen. It opens the soundstage deep into the corners reproducing a lot of the a...

Doug, excellent points especially about the phono amp ;). A small question aside: On the topic of fluid, which AIVS do you recommend? The Super Cleaner (with Alcohol) or the Archivist solution without alcohol? I just ordered some AIVS (both types)...
Which part reduces surface noise most?

Can anyone recommend a Phono Pre Amp?
The Dynavector is very good. In a completely different league and around $1k used (if you are lucky) is the Vacuumstate JLTI. Way more resolution than almost any phono stage up to $6k - I directly compared the Rhea, Sutherland Ph.D., Slee, Wright,...
Mac Itunes File Organization?
To correct my earlier post: I guess itunes CAN attach tags to AIFF files. There is thread on the slim devices forum:AIFF/WAV & ID tags
Mac Itunes File Organization?
You just encountered the biggest downside of WAV - there is no "meta data" included in the files, i.e. no artist or song information. What does that mean for files stored on external hard drives:- If you WAV on an external hard drive and you impor...
