Coincident Eclipse vs Devore Dgad, the Devore-Shindo combination is not something that I think would be very impressive in a short listening session. They take a while to appreciate their strengths which lie more in the accurate reproduction of acoustical instruments than bas...
USB 2.0 does 96Hz? Scrith - how does the Ayre DAC compare to the Benchmark?
No Sound From Cartridge Unless Volume WAY UP Glad it was an easy fix - enjoy the sound the music through your analog set-up now!
No Sound From Cartridge Unless Volume WAY UP measure the resistance (Ohms scale) between the + and - of each channelA note of caution: This is generally not a good idea as the current generated by a voltmeter for measuring resistance could fry the tiny wires inside a cartridge (at least for ...
Poor BASS with Dynavector XX2 +Sunilda + AudioNote Great to hear things have improved with something as "simple" as VTA adjustment ;) Try to play around with different VTA settings and keep track of it using a stack of cards. A change in as much the thinkness of a single card can make quite a bit ...
Poor BASS with Dynavector XX2 +Sunilda + AudioNote I completely agree with Soliver - you should have hex set-screw in place. Willi (the DPS designer) makes a special one that has a flattened ball-point so that the threads of the Rega arm are not damaged. For other arms (e.g. the Schroeder No.2 arm...
Poor BASS with Dynavector XX2 +Sunilda + AudioNote Stelma - the DPS already is designed so that VTA can be adjusted (just simply via set-screw). Most VTA adjustment system (e.g. Riggle, Incognito) would not work if the arm is correctly mounted on the DPS (i.e. set screw from the side rather than t...
Devore and Shindo match Also, I should mention that I absolutely love the Shindo Montille 6v6 amp - in many ways I was even more impressed by the Montille than the Monbrison, it was such a big change from my already excellent Fi amp.
Devore and Shindo match I thought I'll chime in on my impressions with the Devore - Shindo Montille 6v6 match. I did get to hear Mickeyc8's Devore Super 8 in my system for a week (as Mickeyc8 mentioned above) and got some insight into what makes the speakers so special:I...
Poor BASS with Dynavector XX2 +Sunilda + AudioNote Patrick, you should be able to change VTA on the DPS: The Rega arm should be secured with a set-screw from the side; you can loosen the set screw and lift the arm a little bit; then tighten the set screw. I use business cards to measure the distanc...
Poor BASS with Dynavector XX2 +Sunilda + AudioNote Hello from a fellow DPS owner!I know both the DPS/Rega combo and the XX-2 pretty well (although not together). I don't see a mismatch between the Rega arm and the XX-2 cart in term of a resonance/compliance match. A few things to check:- Cartridge...
Tables That Feature Bearing Friction Time to add something to the physics discussion here:if there is more then theory, then we are either in mysticque or religious grounds.I would like to clarify this a little more since there is a lot of confusion on words, especially on the terms ...

USB 2.0 does 96Hz? USB should do 24 bit at 96khz, but it is not very stable. Benchmark and Wavelength are both using USB at 24/96 with good success. In running high-rez flies into the Benchmark I have not had a a problem or instability ever. |
