Wilson Benesch ARC vs. other Scanspeak revelators Have you listened to the WB ARC? I have had a pair for 1.5 years and they great. They are coherent but also detailed. You will not find a dynnamic speaker that is more relaxed and devoid of cabinet coloration. They also can play at high volumes, e...
Best bang for the buck UNIVERSAL Player for Audio. Before I even read you review I had DV9500 in mind. Over the 8400, I would have the 9500 just for audio alone. One thing... I thought the 9500 and the SA11 were now Marantz transports.
My Rogue 99 needs better isolation...please help. I have used the Octal Tube dampers from Vintage tube services with great results. They have a website. not sure of address.
Best under $2000.00 : Denon,Marantz,Onkyo,Pioneer? The Marantz all the way. the 8400 was very good but the audio on the 9500 is noticably better (tonally more balanced and dynamic).
Shunyata 8 & 6 any difference in sound ? Yes, The 8 has a more air, slightly softer presentation. Great space and very coherent. The 6, 4, 2 are more direct, maybe even a little more neutral with a slightly more forward soundstage. Analogy might be 8 (tubes) 6,4,2 solid state. I have the...
Amp suggestions for audiophile virgin The Marantz PM7200 integrated retails for 550 and has a option to run class a or ab. It really is very good. Very musical with slight warmness.
Wilson Benesch I own a pair of the Arcs. Small but certainly not a diminutive sound. I have owned larger speakers that could not keep up in terms of bass, dynamics and over all power. They are very neutral but not boring or lifeless. The are very "un-boxy" sound...
Any B.A.T. amp owners-love or not I have a vk-250 about 6 months old. Very similiar to the 6200. Flawless. I have never heard of BAT reliability issues. Get the BAT and you will forget you are listening to HI FI.
Moving from SS to tube system I would second the BAT. I have had great success with the Rogues. They are NOT noisy but will run hot.
standard counterweight vs drop counterweight OK, you have heard the benefits, here is the reason. First and most important the counterweight hard mounts to the Rega stub. Normally a tension fit the hardmounting cuts back on resonances. Second the low center of gravity provides for better tra...
Wilson Benesch Arc I have WB ARCs withb BAT vk-p5, 31-se, vk-250. I also use Audiquest cables, Cheetah and Volcano both with DBS, all Shunyata power cords and Hydra-8. This system is the most coherent I have listened to. Very natural even tonal balance, detailed, sm...
Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood vs. Virtuoso Wood MKII I do not think there is a mk II version. Clearaudio has just started sending their lower price MM cartridges in wood to the US.
Wilson Benesch ARC vs. Dynaudio Contour 1.3SE I have listened to the Dyn 25 and own the ARC. The ARC very uncolored due to its design, materials, and contruction. Golden Ears is right on with placement flexibility, ease to drive, and even tonal balance at low volumes. I will add that they are...
Tweaks for a top-loader? Sound Improvement Disc (SID) #15 is for top loaders. Damps the the disc and also prevents laser defractions. More focus and depth.
Best-front ported monitor speakers? Wilson Benesch ARC are ported on the bottom. Placement is very flexible and they have a BIG (not bloated) sound. Very open and uncolored. |
