Why Aren't All Cables Pre-Burned In? Hi Audionut! Glad that the phono link worked out for you.....I burn-in the interconnects on a couple of MOBIEs for either five days or thirty days at the customer's option....Wires pick up static in transit due to very low humidity in airplanes so...
Why Aren't All Cables Pre-Burned In? We've been breaking in signal wires here before releasing them to customers for the past six years.....Bob CrumpTG Audio/CTC Builders
What's the best isolation system? Hey Lugnut! The speakers are out from the wall about 6' and there are no drapes, but mini blinds.....First reflection fires into record shelves 8' wide by 7' tall on each side wall.....Go to Audio Asylum and go to rcrump Photo Gallery and you can ...
What's the best isolation system? Yo Lugnut! I'm pretty much on the same page with you about concrete slab construction, spiked stands and 3/4" MDF, but will add aluminum cones work better than brass or stainless on concrete....I moved into the new old house a couple years ago and...
Plinius 250/Pass x-350/Gamut D200/Other ? The GamuT worked just fine driving my 88dB efficient 6 ohm Rockport Syzygy speakers....Wonderful focus and venue information. A really little bump in the upper bass is all I could find to criticize. It isn't the most dynamic amp I have heard, but ...
Plinius 250/Pass x-350/Gamut D200/Other ? I don't know if the JC-1s are amazing, but they are the best we could do in a machine made very powerful amplifier....I have been circulating a demo set to our Blowtorch preamp customers and their friends and everyone has liked them and several ha...
what speaker cables would you use? I have had a lot of positive feedback from customers that use the TG Audio HSR speaker wire with the Berning and Merlins....I am TG Audio BTW....
Used Pass 600monos or Rowland 8TiHC? You might want to think about a brand new set of Parasound JC-1 monos for less money than the used Pass or Rowland......I am more than a bit prejudiced BTW :-)
amplifier's "slam-factor" Sean, I use the Rockport Syzygy speakers in a 16 x 23 x 8'6" room and can hear the transition to Class B on musical peaks when running just 10w of Class A and can't hear the transition with about 30w of Class A via a switch on the JC-1s....
amplifier's "slam-factor" Onhwy61 I think you need to get out more as live music is fast without "sounding" fast.....This is a real trick to reproduce in solid state gear, some can, but most can't.....The odd order higher harmonics normally make the slam come across as har...
Pre-Amp sound similar to Conrad Johnson I assume you are talking about the CJ ART unit as that is a transconductance amplifier? We build a unit that uses a fully balanced folded cascode transconductance amplifier using no global feedback, but done in FETs instead of tubes....
transport/dac combo beats any one-box player... Phil Tower has one of the Audio Logics with a Kern modified CEC transport and seems pretty happy with it....I've been fiddling with the G&D and Cruncher for about eight years and have them working very well, but the analog is better in direct ...
transport/dac combo beats any one-box player... Thanks Natalie....That old cord is a great place to start and likely better than 80% of the current commerical cords out there....Funny how not many in this thread are talking about comparisons with good analog, the real test of a CD system.....Am...
transport/dac combo beats any one-box player... I sure have enjoyed the Entec Number Cruncher for a lot of years paired with G&D Transforms UTP-1 transport....These turn up used from time to time.......
Problems getting the best out of my Berning Peter S, the TG HSR speaker wire isn't horribly expensive at $800 for 8'.....Let the amp break in for a few weeks is the best suggestion I have for you, but wanted to set the record straight as the speaker wire is a bargain compared to anything el... |
