Which basic amps can drive 1 ohm loads ?
Oops, sorry, shoulda looked back!
Will storing used speakers for 1 year damage it?
Those certainly seem like the sort of factors that would have you buying them now, although storing them in the Philippines, it won't be easy to keep them cool and dry! As far as speakers not changing that much, I wouldn't expect B&W to change...

Seadogs, I recall seeing a prior post by you where you had horns (Avante-Gardes)? Quite a turnaround, to say the least!! Muralman, do you have the website for the Apogee users group for Seadogs, I think it would be very useful.

I agree with the above. But, if you're not going to use them for a year, why not wait a year to buy a pair, and take advantage of further depreciation for a better price (unless you like the seller, or other factors are coming into play)?
Which basic amps can drive 1 ohm loads ?
The older Krells (KSA 80, 100, 200 and References, as well as their monoblock versions) were about your only choice back when Apogee was in business, a major reason they used to be demo'd together. Would expect them to still sound good as a combo....
Which speakers for top notch system
If you have the room and scratch for them, the Dynaudio Temptations would be worth an audition, very compatible with your equipment.
Preamps/amps that look great and''feel' great ???
For looks, the Jadis line of equipment is beautiful audio jewelry, with sonics to match. As far as "feel" goes, I've always thought that the Herron line stage's volume control was the silkiest, smoothest one I'd ever used, with a close second to t...
Amp for Wilson Watt Puppy 7
I've heard WP7s with VTL 450s, Boulder 1000 series, Krell FPB and Lamm ML1s, and to my ear the Lamms were the most natural and enjoyable of the group. The VTLs were very good, but ultimately not as refined as the Lamms. The ML1s have more power th...
I'm Not Flexible
Nathanu--you can try getting the KWorks cord through A-goN member Bigkidz, I think he's distributing them. I use them along with TG Audio SLVRs in my system, both excellent cables. KWorks is one of our NJ Audio Society members, that's how I came u...
I'm Not Flexible
KWorks Empowered Cords would fill the bill. VERY effective and flexible.

The new Gergiev 7th is an SACD, so I'll be getting it soon (although his Sheherazade was a disappointment, sonically, not interpretively); will be interesting to contrast with the Bernstein, which has been my reference and a critic fave. Definitel...
New Vinyl Playback Technology
Phild is right. This appears to be the old Finial laser turntable from years ago. Looks like they finally got a company to manufacture and market it, hopefully for far less than the original $30K price (which back then, was in Goldmund Reference t...
Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique; recommendations....
I have heard a lot of versions, and while I like the Munch somewhat, I'd say the Telarc/Jarvi version is quite good; if you have an SACD player it's a bonus, as it really has good sound as an SACD, not your old Telarc house sound at all. There was...
Shostakovich...WHOA
Ljan, the 11th is indeed underperformed, it really requires a lot of concentration not only from the musicians but especially the audience. Most concertgoers stateswide aren't ready for that, certainly not the mainstream classical radio stations. ...
Basis 2500 speed fluctuations anyone?
Check the thread on Turntable Power Source Benefits. I use a Walker Motor Drive with my Basis and find it to be an excellent addition, even though I never really noticed any speed fluctuation from the motor. The motor drive acts also as a power co...
