The Most Cost Effective Tweak
Gita “All I'm saying is that the closer I get my speakers to "perfect" symmetry in the room, the better focused the soundstage becomes”Same Here.Digsmithd, I have had the same very positive result with respect to leveling and grounding by speakers...
The Most Cost Effective Tweak
+1 samuel03.   Irrational but efficacious CD by Ayre Acoustics.  The ROI is infinite for those already subscribing to Qobuz because it is offered there.  So, free.Credit where credit is due:  I learned of it from Jim Smith’s book, Get Better Sound...
The Most Cost Effective Tweak
+1 Gita.I shoot for symmetry to the room also.  I am open to trying the “intentional-asymmetry-to-the room” thing one day.  But, having had unplanned asymmetry before, I very much have enjoyed the improvements in my room after pursuing symmetry.My...
The Most Cost Effective Tweak
Herman,I do strive for symmetry and a attempt to get to a 1/16 but only because I have devised a method that makes it as easy to do that as it is to strive for accuracy only to a 1/4 or 1/8.BTW, I am not actually measuring from ear to speaker, but...
Has anyone used the new Innuos 2.0 Sense music app? Compared it to Roon?
The edit feature is not letting me correct my typos.  I hope what I intended is discernible.
Has anyone used the new Innuos 2.0 Sense music app? Compared it to Roon?
Since my mast post I recalled an example of the headaches I was having with Roon—aside from crazy-bad connectivity problems.  I could never pull up “History”.  History is so accessible with Sense. And I personally find it useful to have instant ac...
Has anyone used the new Innuos 2.0 Sense music app? Compared it to Roon?
Chilehed,Very well said about the improving Sense app and positive overall Innuos ownership experience.  Sense, for me, is knocking it down!I’m learning how to use it better, also.  And though I’ve not used Roon since Sense came out, I was having ...
Has anyone used the new Innuos 2.0 Sense music app? Compared it to Roon?
I downloaded 2.0.7 few hours ago and i think Qobuz SQ may have improved. However, I’m being cautious in reaching that conclusion because in a 2-day period ending yesterday, I changed two cords (each fully broken in, however) and raised my speakers ...
GaN Amp & Speaker Popping Sound At Power On
My LSA Voyager GaN 350 pops when turning on.  Not when turning off.  I leave it on, but noticed popping when turning off to replace IC’s, clean wires, or swap cords.  I reported this to LSA.  They are looking into it, but as long as it causes no d...
Rochester NY
Regrettably, I’m not in your area.  I’m in TN, but I like what you did here.   I’ve wanted to do the same thing, but I procrastinate saying I’ll do it later.  Hope it works out really well for you.Because you are in Rochester, I can’t resist askin...
Stock Voyager GaN amp (350/600) Contrasted with my EVS1200 (600/1200)
Muscularity, meat on the bones…Density?  Audiophiliac on YT did an episode a while ago addressing what, in his view,  is needed for hifi to go that last bit toward the ultimate goal of sounding like live (presumably un-amplified) music.  Aka, life...
How to know if GAN-fet amp and Lyngdorf 2170 (as a Pre and Dac) are compatible
Thanks for posting, mapman.  I’ve never seen a member with more posts.  Let’s coordinate so I can do an OP that flips your postometer to 20k.
How to know if GAN-fet amp and Lyngdorf 2170 (as a Pre and Dac) are compatible
It was never about the topology, if that is what you mean by “how the amp is built”.   Including the descriptive “GAN-fet”, which is Class D, in my OP was extraneous, for sure, so I can see why anyone might construe it as you did.Everything worked...
One box do it all
What about a used Lyngdorf 2170?  Below your stated 100w or more but..it is high current and we all know watts don’t tell the whole tale from mfg. to mfg.  Many say, Naim, for example drive speakers much better than their relatively low wattage de...
How to know if GAN-fet amp and Lyngdorf 2170 (as a Pre and Dac) are compatible
Soix:I have experience bringing in new gear to evaluate for SQ performance in my system, whether it be streamer, integrated, power conditioner or tweaks, wires, etc.  The GAN-fet amp will be the first “separate” (amp or pre) I’ve ever connected.So...
