Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear @lewm : I think that my post about was unclear.Because I think exactly like you and in those " old " times what I did it not only with the B&O and other plug-in cartridges type ( like the Technics 100C MK4, Azden and the like. ) is to by-...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear @bimasta: """   But the transformation of those simple clicks and pops says a lot, and the improvement must extend to the music."""That's why we can't diminish almost " nothing " on analog audio as I posted to you. Great that you tried it wi...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear @fleib : """  About MM loading - It's preamp and system dependent.Although people will often agree about a load for a particular cart, others might get different results. I think it has a lot to do with preamp topology, bandwidth and that so...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear @bimasta: """  It seems to me the mechanical integrity of the stylus/body connection is less critical with MM than MC because their high compliance puts far less stress on the connection """I think that no one here or elsewhere can proved th...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear @cleeds : The corruption is not an issue that if some one differ of " someting " because in the mean time you learn you don't differ with. When over time you learned that what you learned before coming from the audio establishment was totally ...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear @lewm: Yes, that's in theory: not for all cartridges that 100k because each cartridge diferent electrical design values. Now, please let me know for sure which of your MM cartridges sounds better at 47k than at 100k.I own or owned " hundreds "...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear friends: I think that maybe the first LOMC cartridge advantage against the MM/MI alternative is that LOMC ones has no interchangeable stylus/cantilever  assembly and avoid at 100% those vibrations/resonances generated in that assembly and it'...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear @bimasta: Like you many of us owned and still own MM/MI cartridges that we bougth 30+ years ago and that was on " rest " for manuy many years because we were " directed " by the  audio high hend establishment to the LOMC alternative that inde...

Dear @halcro : It's incredible that in the same thread ( short time. ) any one can change its way of thinking but you did it  and you did it so easy in favor ofnothing other than to say " I'm rigth ". Let me explain it with facts from you:"""  He...
Can an old Thorens Table be "Over Dampend" to the point where sound is adversely effected?
Dear @bdp24 and friends: """  "Over-damped" implies there is an optimal amount of damping....-...............But as a mechanical transducer, why would one want the table itself to add vibrations or resonances of it's own to the tiny vibrations co...
Can an old Thorens Table be "Over Dampend" to the point where sound is adversely effected?
Dear @lewm : Massive TT/platters are not innert just because weigths 300kgs or more. Are inert for you or me but not for the extremely senstive microphone that's a cartridge with that so low output that as you know could be only 0.01 mv!!!!!A mass...
Can an old Thorens Table be "Over Dampend" to the point where sound is adversely effected?
Dear @atmasphere : """  not using damping materials on the arm in such a way that the performance is compromised. For the most part, common sense. """it's clear that we can't overdamp a TT plinth, as you said maybe only change its frequency reson...
The Palladian-A step beyond
Dear @ : You link trying to tease me makes me laugh and I mean it, I like that you tube link that unfortunatelly helps nothing in the main subjects here. If that is your " common sense " contribution to the thread then that can explain each single...
