Sonic Frontier Power 1 Tubes I have a Power 2 and prefer the KT-88 tubes. My preference is based on the power needed to push my speakers. I use the Power 2 to push electrostatic panels in a hybrid speaker. Haven't tried 6922s, but 6550s sounded much "thinner" in my applicatio...
Best Speaker for Loud Rock w/ tubes I have a SF Power 2 that I use as the top end in a bi-amp situation. My speakers are Innersound ISIS, they're hybrid and I use an ADCOM 5800 for the bass. I love the sound and I listen to everything except hard core rap. Occasionally there is a pa...
Please explain gain I have a Sonic Frontiers Power 2 Tube amp and it doesn't specifically state gain in the specifications. There is a spec for Negative Voltage Feedback that is expressed in dB. Is this the same as gain? Is there a formula for calculating gain?By the...
reactions to SMILE? This isn't really the "lost" version, the songs were recently recorded. It's very good (IMO), but it's not a 30+ year old masterpiece, the songs are 30+ years old recorded recently with recent technology.None the less, it's on my list to buy

Listening Fatigue I think the quality of the recording has a lot do with listening fatigue. I can listen to quality recordings louder and longer than I can with poor recordings, even if I really like the performers/music.
best concert venue Although I have to second the vote for Yoshi's, it is missing one thing.A few years back I was in London at a Jazz club (Can't remember name) and they had the perfect addition to any venue. Stenciled on the walls were the letters STFU. During the ...
The effects of corporate music I didn't open and read all the posts so this may already have been mentioned.http://www.cdbaby.com/This place sells independent releases, lets you sample it and has some really interesting browsing methods check out the flavors section
Dumb question..but just wondering ????? I agree w/Rcprince about veneers and wood. Perhaps the question should be "what happens to MDF over time in terms of sound"In my case although I have kept speakers for long periods of time I have always tweaked some part of the system so can't pro...
VSA VR4 Gen III SE biamp questions. You didn't mention a pre-amp? I did a similiar hookup with a shanling CDP that had an internal volume, so didn't need a pre. Initially I used a pair of Y's from the CDP, but then I went to an Active Crossover (AXO). You can get AXOs pretty cheap (... |
