Retired audiophile?
Ditto.....my last big purchase was this spring when I re-tubed my CJ pre amp and amp.  I believe my cartridge will outlive me unless I clip off the cantilever.  I'm 61, 'retired', & living on a limited budget.  I believe my high end equipment ...
The ever lasting diamond stylus...is it a myth or??
One side of one average album is ~one mile distance.  Yes, diamond is harder than vinyl, but if you have gunk in the grooves; like dust and dirt it will wear down (grind) the diamond over time.  We are taking 3000 - 5,000 miles use.  The record gr...

Tube Amp Maintenance Tip...
Yes, I had some reservations in regards to the di-electric grease, but it is a good conductor and used on very sensitive electrical connections in automobiles. (connectors on oxygen sensors for one example). The input is appreciated and hopefully ...
"Pressing Vinyl"
Being in manufacturing all my life I can truly say I'm concerned. The demand and profit are there. (I know I'm paying at least $30.00 for one LP + shipping) Why no new equipment or processes? I would believe capital would be available from investo...
Who is your overall favorite guitarist?
Without reservation Mr. Mark Knopfler....
Luxman Class A Integrated Slight Buzzing Noise
Excellent detective work. My C-J tube amp has a bit of a hum when no music is playing. Some call it tube rush. I don't worry about it because it does not interfere or create issues when I play music. Does your hum become undetectable when you play...
Lyra Delos 'belly cover'
Cyclopse, interesting..I think we call that a glue stick here in the USA. That is a clever idea and I'll keep it in mind when the fibers loosen again, which I am sure they will. Thanks for the post.
Lyra Delos 'belly cover'
Should be end of discussion.... Sunday July 12th 2015. I examined the underside of the Washi paper mounted to the bottom of the cartridge with high power magnification. Still clean, no threads, smooth like a babies behind. I believe the steam dist...
