Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
I had the local machine shop make a weight for me out of a scrap piece of round bar brass, it weighed around 300 grams, and another out of a new hockey puck, he made it perfectly round and center drilled, both with the same old slip mat remains gl...
Randy Meisner Has Died
I was mostly interested in his work with Poco (Timothy Schmidt replaced him there when he left for the Eagles, and then replaced him in the Eagles) and HIS projects. BTW, I prefer the Jack Temption (the writer) version of, Peaceful Easy Feeling to...
"Can You Lift Yours?"
my old Soundcraftsman amp weighs a lot. Haven't lifted it onto a scale. But maybe after a nap.....
New CD Player

I happen to be budget constrained. My main turn tables are old, but very good for their time. I think my Kenwood KD 550 was around $400 (Tax refund) it was a demonstrator and it came with a Shure V 15. So I'm going to recommend an entry level Rega...

My Final System Build in Words & Pictures
What phono cartridge(s) did you settle on? Did you carry anything over, beside the 10 ga power cord?  I've had my Kenwood KD 550 on the 1950's style "sand box" since I bought it new. The boxes have been made out of plywood, 2-by-6, and now scaveng...

Advice on how to liquidate system
I also have a hearing issue. Mine is just the right ear. Try a bone conductance speaker, I used one for a year or two.  Hearing aid tech has improved.  And, so has my perception.  I don't think that I ever stopped being an active listener. What ha...
