Dan D'Agostino is back with a new line
Well, if these designs are going to end up being Class A, hard to tell, then I can see the being quite a bit more than the Pass X series, but you would think in line with the XA.5 (some the best SS amps I have ever heard) so maybe 15-20K for 100 C...
StereoTimes Interview with Duke LeJeune/Audiokines
Anthony, do you use footers with your Jazz Modules? I liked them so much at RMAF, I almost thought of selling my.....well, I couldn't do it, but I did like what I was hearing in the Audio Kinesis room, those amps weren't bad either:)
Tube rolling CJ MV60SE
If it can handle KT88s, not sure why it couldn't, but check with CJ - the Genalex Reissues are very, very good. I would get them from Jim McShane who has a reputation for being a good tester and has reasonable prices.
Mapletree Audio versus Decware preamps
So far, I can say that Dr. Peppard (Mapletree) has been a real pleasure to talk to; reminds me a bit of Roger Modjeski (Music Reference / RAM Labs) in the credibility of what he says and why he does things they way he does.
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
That is a great quote Anthony, a great way to define good equipment - a lot simpler than audiophile jargon.
Mapletree Audio versus Decware preamps
Ordered a 2A SE from Dr. Lloyd - RCA Red and Black trim, Blackgate capacitor upgrade - simply seems like a 0 BS product. I've owned some the finest and most expensive preamps, and I'm very curious to see how this $840 with shipping designed a Prof...
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
That is quite a nice write up on the NAT on 6moons - it would be very interesting to hear your opinions of such a "robust" and expensive preamp up against the "simple" LSA.
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
I've used that method from time to time:)
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
If I knew that was an option and the $$$ difference was marginal, I wold have gone for that - always good to control balance to deal with unbalanced recordings, rooms, and occassionaly speakers.
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
Maybe it was previously mentioned, but can you make these with two volume knobs for left and right channels to adjust balance?

"I just wonder if this Amp will be a huge upgrade in performance over say an ~10K Pass labs X250.5 or SimAudio Evolution W-8?" NOI don't think the strategy is to sell these, why the economy does not matter, but it sure will get a lot of press and ...
solid state vs tubes
I think Nelson Pass chose SS because he felt there were already alot of really good sounding tube amps, the trick was to get SS to sound good and he wanted to take on the challenge - don't know whether his stuff sounds tubelike or not, though he o...

A great $5000 Class A Integrated would have sent the message that the baton had passed to a successor company with a viable sales path; not sure this product is about making sales, at least not right at the start.
Rawson Amps
I imagine a Rawson buiold of a Pass circuit would sound pretty similar to a First Watt version, since I don't get the sense they are hard to make, only hard to create the circuit concept - so it proabably would be a lower cost way of enjoying the ...
