My New Magnepan 1.7i's sound dull and lifeless on the top end...why?
Either the tweeters on OP’s speakers are working properly or they’re not. I say the following based on my decades of experience with Magnepan speakers. Amps, room, placement, source material, cables, fuses, the alignment of the stars, and so forth...

Check the tweeter fuses?
What is best sub to match with Magnepan?
Using a single REL T5 with .7's. A DSPeaker Anti-Mode 2 is also in the mix.  Works fine.  It took some experimentation to position the REL but that's part of the game we play. I may get a second T5, maybe not.
A somewhat but not entirely rhetorical question:
@tsushima1 Thank you.  The key to this very happy ending was finding the local tech.  It was his extraordinary skills that kept me from making a very big mistake.  That I found him at all, was quite a stroke of good fortune.
Best drink while listening to your rig?
Whole milk. Or I'm with @hbarrel, Miller High Life, which until recently I could not stand. It's shocking to me, but somehow I've lost my taste for great craft beer.  I was an IPA Guru.  Sigh.  Jeez, I must be gettin' on in years........
Subwoofer Footing - Connect or Isolate?
I'm with oldhvymec on this one. The only thing that made listening to my stereo system remotely tolerable was to move the house off its existing foundation, remove the foundation, excavate a 35' x 45' x 15' deep pit, fill it with rock and rebar and...
Subwoofer Footing - Connect or Isolate?
Are there any subwoofer manufacturers who provide a set of tuned springs with their speakers?
Subwoofer Footing - Connect or Isolate?
A REL engineer told me that the only thing I might want to try is some BlueTak under each foot. But with or without the ’Tak, he said the sub will perform properly on my hardwood floors over a crawl space using the T5 as REL designed it. I tried t...
I have various speakers and audio equipment for sale. They 7-10 years old. Should I list?
The 'gon or the 'mart. Easy. Often effective.
Fear of volume control
@tomic601 LMAO! Well done, sir.
What is the most important component to consider while building a new system?
@david_ten OP asked:"What is the most important component to consider while building a new system?" Component. Singular. He did not ask "What ARE the most important COMPONENTS to consider while building a new system?"Hmmm? Hmmm indeed. I’m outta h...
What is the most important component to consider while building a new system?
I reiterate- no speakers, no music.  Seems obvious but hey this is an "audiophile" forum, hence "common sense" is often not all that common.
Recommendations for speakers that sound great at lower volume levels.
I've not read all the posts in this thread so excuse me if my question has been answered. Can OP kindly clarify what "lower volumes" means?  What are your preferred average decibel levels? As an example in my dedicated listening room, approximately...

I’m with Atmasphere and chorus. Except, of course, stating the obvious, if one does not have speakers or 'phones, then THEY are the most important.  :)Over and out.
What do $2500 speaker cables sound like?
@sokogearOver the decades I’ve played at the "audiophile" game, my journey has become much more about the music I’ve learned a lot. One big lesson which I recently had to relearn is that often newer is not better. Different perhaps but not better....
