What to do? Buy a new motherboard and rebuild? Or wait for failure?
Agreed, strip it down to the essentials.  When all else fails, clean install time.
What to do? Buy a new motherboard and rebuild? Or wait for failure?
Yes, I was booting from DVD/Thumbdrive.  His HD had failed and I had installed a new drive, so not possible to boot from Windows.  I was not trying to install over a previous installation.  Also, I tried to install without being connected to the I...
What to do? Buy a new motherboard and rebuild? Or wait for failure?
I inserted his Win7 (Full Version w/verified product key) into the DVD Drive and ran setup.  Windows tried to download the latest version of the installer, but failed to find the Update Server.  So, it errored out and wouldn't let me continue.  I ...

You can no longer do a clean install of Windows 7.  Microsoft shut down the Windows 7 update server a few years back.  Windows 7 install needs to access the update server to verify that it's a legit copy of the OS and to download the latest Window...
Only $800 to work with streamer/power for 3rd system
If I had to choose between Denon and Integra, I'd choose Denon.  Tidal Masters are up to 24/192, but no way to tell which sample rates/bit depths until you play a track.  Not sure about Cambridge and MQA/Tidal.  I think the Niam Uniti at $3300 doe...
Only $800 to work with streamer/power for 3rd system
The 12/18/2018 firmware update added MQA playback: The 12/18/2018 update will address the following and includes previous updates: 1. Adds support for TIDAL Masters. • To listen to TIDAL Masters, you need to upgrade to a TIDAL HiFi Member. 2. Min...
Only $800 to work with streamer/power for 3rd system
The integra DTM-7 doesn't list MQA as a supported format.  Also, DSD is only supported over HDMI.  As far as streaming goes, it uses Chromecast and Play-fi.  While Play-Fi will unfold MQA, it down samples it to 16/44, or 24/192 if you have the ded...
Only $800 to work with streamer/power for 3rd system
I found the following review comparing the Onkyo to the Bluesound Node 2i.I've been looking around for the last few months for a new streamer myself.  at the $800 price point, with your wish list, it's really hard to beat the Powernode 2i.  I only...

Is there such a thing as a Portable Hi-Rez USB player that can be used in a car aux input?
Remember, its an older Jeep Wrangler , so pretty noisy.  You could add a Bluetooth receiver and use your phone. Bluetooth 5.0 and AptX-HD will support up to 24/96.  Or, you can change the head unit to one with Bluetooth 5.0, but then you're probab...
Customer Product Reviews on Web-Based Retailers
Most people don't leave bad reviews for a few reasons.  You buy the product, it sucks, breaks or doesn't meet your expectations so you either sell it, return it or Bin it.  You move on and it's not worth the effort to review it.  Or, you leave a b...
All I need to know about D-Sonic amplifiers
I have a D-Sonic M2000 MKII 5 Channel amp based on B&O ASP Modules (3 ASP1000, 2 ASP500).  I'm very happy with the amp.  I originally had Bel Canto REF1000M & REF500M mono's which are based one the same B&O Modules.  The D-sonic gave m...

I haven't heard the CA Io and because it uses dual Balanced Armatures, I don't know if it will have the same sound signature of the CA IEM's that use dynamic drivers or hybrid designs.  A lot of people love the CA Andromeda's, and they've develope...

BTW - Underwood HiFi (Underwood Wally here) has the Be's on sale for $259 delivered.
Best earphone for the value
I also own a pair of Be's, Ti's and their Nickel headphone amp.  The Be's are not quite as good as the CA Lyra II's.  At half the price, they are a real bargain.  In addition, they don't require a headphone amp to make them sing; you can just plug...
