New Joseph Audio Pulsar Graphene 2
As a prospective future customer for the Joseph speakers, my worry remains based on the many reports of "richer bass" that the Perspective 2s may overload my room.  The original Perspectives were on the edge.My room is actually very good for getti...
Ugly vs Gogeous speakers
I get that many audiophile don't care what their speakers/gear looks like, it's all about the sound. That explains the look of many audiophile dens (and...maybe...many audiophiles)....;-)
Thiel Owners
Speaking of Bryston, I used to own the 4B ST mostly to have a reference SS amp.  It was a real work-horse and powered many speakers I had in my room, both when reviewing or otherwise.  I have always felt I wanted to hear the general character of a...
Speaker Break In...? Or listener “Break In”?
And you have to burn the cables in just right. Quantum right.https://www.thecableco.com/quantum-burning-technology-burn-in-machine.htmlI can't decide of the right word for that is "shameful" or "shameless."
Speaker Break In...? Or listener “Break In”?
Listener.Remember: audiophiles think EVERYTHING "burns in." The audiophile assumption of burn in is a convenient shibboleth for manufacturers to say "you need to keep our speakers for 200 to 500 hours and THEN you’ll know what they really sound li...
Anyone at the Devore Fidelity Event?
Ha!  Thanks bjesien.I used to be pretty fanatical in my speaker searches - travel by car, train or plane to wherever I had to in order audition speakers. The O reference series is way beyond my means so hearing them would just be for fun.
Anyone at the Devore Fidelity Event?

markalarsenWow, you also have YG Carmels?  Those are supposed to be terrific speakers!  I guess you have two systems?   What do you like about your YG speakers?BTW, agreed about pulling speakers out from the back wall as a general principle.  It's...
Tone, Tone, Tone !
jaferdIt seems intuitively obvious that an accurate system would reproduce the beautiful tonality of natural instruments and voices, so that's what "everyone" would shoot for.I think this all gets complicated by the vast number of colorations inhe...

mijostyn,Even my tiny little Spendor 3/5s spec'd only down to 90Hz have a palpable "thereness" that I haven't heard from any electrostat. Adding a dynamic woofer to an electrostat seems to produce pallpability in the region covered by the woof...
Tone, Tone, Tone !
wow bdp24, that sounds very cool.  Wish I could have heard that!
Tone, Tone, Tone !
mijostynI started off smitten by electrostatics.  I owned Quad ESL 63s, and later also added the Gradient dipole subwoofers made especially for the Quads - still I think the most seamless dynamic woofer/stat blend I've heard, even including the ML...

snapsc,I"m familiar with that thread.I fully respect the work done by Toole et al on correlating speaker design with general listener preferences.   Problem for me is the personal applicability.   I've auditioned the speakers designed via that res...
Tone, Tone, Tone !
Interesting jsautter.JA has been measuring speakers, and mapping the results to audible characteristics, for as long as I can remember.  I have no idea what type of experience you have to compare - hence no idea how much weight to grant your claim...
