What Is So Special About Harbeth?
Harbeth to me Are in the same category like Teckton they look plain ugly This had me laugh out loud.  A classic, reserved British monitor look is not your cup of tea?  Cool.  But on the same footing as the Tectonic monstrosities?  LOL.

Boy that's kind of creepy about the current ThielAudio site.  How ignominious. Some people suck.

tomthiel   So do you mean the actual content of that ThielAudio site is "fake," as it were? And it's just fishing for contact info? I posted a link to the Thiel blog.  I didn't mean it was active, but simply that it is still there and not t...

I wonder who maintains the Thiel Blog. I was just going over the many warm remembrances of Jim Thiel on this page (which I've posted before):   http://thielaudio.blogspot.com/2009/09/please-share-your-memories-of-jim-thiel.html#comment-form ...
Joseph Audio Pulsar – Original vs. Graphene opinions?
Thanks jpremm, that's really good to hear. I'm really hoping to send my pair to Jeff for the upgrade this spring.
Joseph Audio Pulsar – Original vs. Graphene opinions?
Thanks for chiming in @jpremm  Wow, 18 inches off the rear wall seems like fairly close for the Perspectives.   Good to hear they work well for you. You mention upgrading to the newest version of the Perspectives.  Did you purchase brand new ...

Wonderful info Tom. The Amberwood CS6 is still one of the best looking speakers I've ever seen, let alone had in my place.   BTW I also own some old Hales Transcendence speakers in what they called the Pau Ferro finish, and they look beautiful ...

@tomthiel  Just stumbled upon an old Stereophile review of the 2.2s. https://www.stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/492thiel/index.html A quote:   "What I admire most about these speakers is the fact that the product is so professionally done....
Why I'm not adding a sub to my 2-way monitors for music
Actually Thiel made a number of subwoofers to go with his speakers.  Apparently really excellent and made specially to blend with Thiel speakers, especially. So it's not like Thiel speakers were "subwoofer proof" or something.  I know that a n...
How much “suspension of disbelief do you need?”
Movies are are sketchy example. Most writers lean away from real world in favor of sensational. Count me as one who don’t care. I disagree. I think the parallels work. Just like music tracks span the gamut of "acoustic sources recorded natural...
How much “suspension of disbelief do you need?”
It seems some who don't care about, or have abandoned any semblance to the real thing can't grok why anyone else would care. Here's my approach: The reason I got in to high end audio was having some life-changing encounters with audio systems, w...
Why I'm not adding a sub to my 2-way monitors for music
I was always quite satisfied with the sound from my Thiel 2.7s (spec’d down to 35Hz though probably a bit lower in room). After reading the billionth "you need subwoofers to Have Complete Audio Nirvana" post by subwoofer proselytizers I finally...
Impressions of Coincident Speakers
That's good to hear charles. I can't find any new reviews which have measurements.  Only an older sound-stage review of the coincident super eclipse, where the measurements again look pretty awful.  I don't think measurements are always neede...
Impressions of Coincident Speakers
It's been a long time since I heard some coincident speakers.   But when they were the "new thing" back in the late 90's a local dealer carried them and I always found them way too colored for my liking.  Hence I wasn't surprised by the notorio...
Nice upgrade to Hales T5’s
Well, as it happens, I used to own Hales T5s myself.  I LOVED them. What attracted me to the Hales was that they seemed to get the benefits of metal drivers without the negatives (especially back among speakers when the Transcendence line came...
