Holo Audio May DAC @georgehifiFrom the Kitsune web site:The true balanced DUAL MONO circuit designXLR is using all of the circuit and RCA is just using half of them. The balanced output has better performance (THD, noise) and also better common mode rejection rate.
Old Amps that can still Kick Butt Pioneer M22…..it is awesome!
o.k anybody know anything about shm-cd they claim there indistinguishable from the master? Too funny. Most people complain that the “Breakfast in America” SHM SACD is too dull, not too bright.....
has anybody else noticed this about flac audio? The orange juice metaphor is massively flawed. Decompressing a losslessly compressing file leaves you with EXACTLY the same data as before the compression process. There is absolutely no good technical reason to not use lossless compression. why wa...
has anybody else noticed this about flac audio? @danvignau If you use a lossless compression format to store a file and compare that to a format like does not compress like WAV, the data in the files is bit for bit identical. Only the wrapper has changed. Again, the DAC gets the same exact data...
has anybody else noticed this about flac audio? If you read up on FLAC, you will discover that all the hard work is done on the compression side. Decompressing the FLAC file doesn’t really change the CPU load much even comparing level 0 to level 8. Yes, even FLAC level 0 is compressed. There is...
Network Transport vs. CD Transport George,The 24/96 "Reference Recordings" that you mention are not CDs. That's just marketing bullcrap. Why do you think it is better to convert from analog to 24/96 and then to 16/44.1 than to convert analog to 16/44.1? The only reason they do that...
Network Transport vs. CD Transport George,Please get your facts straight.CD = Redbook = 16/44.1HDCDs are 16/44.1. HDCD uses a proprietary algorithm to to compress the peaks of a recording so that when played back on an HDCD decoding device, the peaks are extended and approximate th...
Network Transport vs. CD Transport Let's get real here.If you are using a CD transport to send digital data to your DAC and use a computer or streamer to send digital data to your DAC, they are both sending the exact same data.Let's assume the CD transport sounds better to you. Why...
PS Audio's DSD Windom Firmware Update! It would sound even better without the Bridge II installed.....
Anyone interested in selling a PS Audio Bridge II? I tried MQA and found it to be lacking. I switched to Qobuz and find the higher Resolution albums there to sound as good or better. The Bridge II is junk.
Do we really need anything greater than 24/96? Opinions? No, I will not accept that 25% of the data is missing. You are so wrong on this I don't even know where to begin. You are spreading lies and misinformation.
Do we really need anything greater than 24/96? Opinions? The third problem is produced by scattered laser light that fills up the entire inside of the CD transport and is picked up by the photodetector as real signal. I’m sorry to have to be the one to say this but you’re only hearing 50% of what’s on t...
Anyone interested in selling a PS Audio Bridge II? Don't bother. Buy an ultraRendu instead. It sounds much better.
PS Audio's DSD Windom Firmware Update! Actually, I think the Bridge II is terrible. It is also limiting. The max PCM rate is 24/192 while the max DSD rate is DSD64.I much prefer using an ultraRendu versus the Bridge II. It sounds significantly better. |
