Heads Up: ARC is introducing the new SP-20 in Fall
ARC starts with margin expectations like any company still in business. Sometimes that expectation is too high and the pipeline either doesn't get filled or clogs up. That's the danger with the high end electronic bus. you can only introduce a pro...
Com'on...confess..........
Ketchup, the limited release is the one I have. It is numbered and the sound is excellent. It is my first real exposure to them, I have only heard a few songs on satellite radio on the Jam station.

08-28-13: Minorl"But the real question should be, are you getting what you pay for? An object, equipment, car, house, art, etc. is worth exactly what a person is willing to pay for it."Great point Minorl - there is a price point for everyone, that...

Com'on...confess..........
Ketchup, I will check it was a gift, I doubt it is original. I didn't know Phish had any original pressings, thought they were sort a CD/download band?I am new to them, but have some friends who love them.
Conrad Johnson ET-3 vs Premier 10/14 ?
I have not heard the ET-3 but used a Premier 14 for a long time and think it is a great preamp. Not a lot of tube rolling opportunities with the 6gk5 tube. The best ones I heard was a mix of hitachi and mullard which are inexpensive and readily av...
Ortofon Cadenze versus Lyra Delos
I agree with Hoopster, ortofon makes some fine cartridges, have not heard the red...sorry, but I have owned a Jubilee for years and can't imagine changing. I have also heard the cadenza bronze many times and it passes excellent information as well...
room makes or breaks
I finally invested the time and money to build out a music room and it was worth every minute away from music and dollar spent! It took 9 months...It will make your system shine better than ever and make you stop looking so hard to find that compo...
LOUSY SOUND AT LIVE CONCERTS
Mapman I saw the Stones that way in Philly at RFK before they tore it down and it was like we were the only people there...amazing. Keith sang "slipping away" my wife's fav and she thought it was a personal tribute!
Does it bother you?
Mapman +1 great point!
Does it bother you?
Its a business and business needs competition, apparently there is no competition to make sonically superior music so there is no reason to spend any money doing it.
Does it bother you?
Oh...and the musicians were better! IMHO
Does it bother you?
Great thread - my take is even if the recording is poor you still have to go through another stage to hear it and that is the home audio system....why not have it spec'ed the best you can? I listen to mostly rock anyway so I am doomed! LOL! But I ...
LOUSY SOUND AT LIVE CONCERTS
As we all know most large venue shows are extravaganzas...not just music, like a broadway play on PED!...LOL!...and by the time you blow through the first 3 songs or so your ears are shot! If you have been around long enough you have dozens of sto...
Interconnects--power cords?
If I read your post correctly your discontent began after inserting the Sky IC - I am personally not a fan of silver, have used silver that was too bright, lean, and another instant where it was too dull and lifeless. Not a fan...have never heard t...
