Classe SSP
Lalitk, I agree it is sad to see Classe compromised from it's previous stature. I always liked the powerful yet relaxed nature of the previous amps, especially the old CA models.  Like you, have always been a fan and still use my CA200 quite often.
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable
Most all of us agree cables are a critical part of a system but Calvin is right, you do not have to spend crazy money for cables - but you might have to spend crazy money to come to that conclusion.
New preamp, loss of low freq.?
I do hate low impedance amps - I have Mcintosh 501's that are 10K and do not work as well with my CJ preamp.  I have a Classe with a 75K and the combination is much more dynamic.George - good call on the output coupling cap...

Suggestions for Cables between Playback Designs MPS-5 and Allnic L-3000 Mk 2 Preamp
Hi Tim, there really is no good recommendation unless someone answers who has your same setup.   Even then it is all relative to too many other factors.  There are literally hundreds of choices and good ones too.  Trial and error and most of all e...
Another unconventional power cord test?
Thank goodness the linestage I am using currently has a captive cord.  One less thing to improve on!  Or should I say worry about.  I have tried about a dozen PC's and most offer an improvement or change of some sort.  The characteristic I listen ...
McCormack DNA-750 good?
Buy them! 2009 is not old, you can always resell if you don't really like. Is it a hassle, yes, but most of the time listening first is not a realistic option. Go for it.
I am sick of Adele
Robin Quivers has a much better cover of Hello already.
Need Tube Preamp Warmth
Lowrider I have owned a CJ premier 14 for many years, it is currently playing backup to my Dehavilland ultra verve. The UV is slightly more revealing than the 14, just how much depends on the 6SN7 signal tube used. The CJ with Mullard tubes has a ...
Devore Gibbon X or O/96?
I am with Jond, I spent 2 days with the O/96 at the Capital Audio Fest a couple of years ago. Could not pull myself away, the tone and top to bottom coherence was so realistic. I talked to the dealer about buying that pair to save hauling them bac...
$510.00 for an Aluminum cover for the ARC Ref. 10?
Ridiculous! At some point goodwill has to come into play. That is nothing but money grubbing!
Tone arm upgrade
Agree with Jperry about the Basis Vector. I could not believe the sound improvement over my Rega 300 and Hadcock 228. For me though it was the most logical move since I have a Basis TT. But WOW!
Bowers and Wilkerson B&W 802 D3: an impolite Brit?
+1Jimmy and Eniac. Well said - why indeed if you have a history like B&W would you not put your speakers in a "commercial" environment to allow potentials coming into a shrinking industry the experience of high end. There is always the danger ...
