Does removing anti-skating really improve sound?
I have always kept anti skating on my Vector 4 on the light side, just below mid level.  I think it best for several cartridges I have owned.  I think Millercarbon’s advice is sound.

As I suspected it is the Proteus.  I put my Ortofon Jubilee back in and it plays fine.  Anyone know who would work on a Transfiguration?  What a time to go out of biz....only 460 or so hours on this tranny...bummer.

Albert Porter
Exactly right whart - well said.  Your point about technology is also spot on - I am strictly vinyl and do not know the first thing about digital.  Although I am learning on this and other sites. My player isn’t even hooked up currently and when i...
Albert Porter
I have done business with Albert lately - as always a terrific experience.Alot of people have moved on or lost interest in Agon but a new crop has come onboard like most sites.  I have been lurking around here since 2000 and don’t post nearly as m...
No love for 70's guitar bands?
I was in college during the late seventies and still to this day is my favorite era of music and gets plenty of play time on my TT.  I remember disco just hitting the bar scene (I was out and about on nickel beer night often as I was always broke ...
Do any of your Rolling Stones recordings bring "Satisfaction"?
I find all my old original recordings to sound good on vinyl, the newer stuff like the Blues album for example sound bright and compressed which surprised me.I also don't prefer the remakes I have like Beggars and Exile.  I guess you can't fix wha...

I Think We Can All Agree...
A new marketing employee obviously - first thing they do in the CPG business is change the packaging but this, LOL, will never get past the old heads. I guess there is only so much innovation in the car biz that makes you stand out.If this is the ...
Shipping by UPS
That makes sense lowrider57.  I have gotten to a point where I am not interested in shipping expensive electronics.  I believe Amazon has made the home delivery more risky for damage than ever.  It seems to be bleeding into the entire delivery ind...
Thoughts on VTA......
Amen wallycroc....being an audiophile takes us to a significant level of ocd.  Adjusting tonearms for every song becomes dangerously so imo.
To Sell or Keep?
Keep it.  You will want to change things up on occasion.   Also you are very familiar with the BAT and obviously like it.  A good reference for your new pre.
