Are all Linn products made in Scotland?
The speakers say Denmark on them. It's Linn's marketing one must beware of. Great if buying used, but way over priced new.
Are all Linn products made in Scotland?
The drivers for Majik 140 speakers are Peerless and made in Denmark. Great sounding.

Ittock LV II tonearms are made in Japan, and maybe some other tonearms.
Best VALUE Linn amp for 5103 PreAmp
I got rid of Linn when I bought Cary. Old system was Cary amp and pre both tubes, Linn Kudos, Mimik II, Numerik, Majik 140's. Still have a very nice Sondek 12 TT. Replaced the Linn sources with Magnum Dynalab tube, Moon Equinox SE, Lipinski speake...
Reel to Reel; Digital players ; & Turntables/LP's
I recorded my albums to a Teac x2000r with dbx and without. Great sound especially using dbx, but not as good as the needle hitting the record on a Linn Sondek 12, less work too. I've owned 3 x2000r's but still prefer the sound of the TT. I've als...
Suggestions for speakers for my Cary 2a3se monos
I've owned the Khorns, Chorus II, Forte, Herseys, and Quartets (Quartets sounded the best of the Klipsch) and just sold a very nice set of Linn Majik 140's. These were all run with Cary CAD 120's and Cary SLP98P. I'm now running Lipinski 707's. Tr...
Cary SLP98 + Rocket 88R F1 vs SLI80
The SLI-80 should be very good. I ran a Cary V12R through my SLP98P (the amp ran hot enough to cook burgers on) but sounded great, now I have the CAD 120's. Cary gear is very impressive. I just sold a pair of Linn Majik 140's (fantastic sound) and...
Any of my existing amps work on Quad ESL-57's
Tune the Cary's. Try your others in the meantime and just use caution. Good luck.
Does your amp/preamp/int amp have to look good?
That depends on what you pay. I want both if I pay enough. Speakers may (or may not) be an exception. Ugly that still looks new, may be an indicator of how well the seller took care of the equipment.
Best small speakers?
I'm in hour 100 (suggested 24 hour break in time) and you'd have to pry the Lipinski 707's from my dead fingers. If you ever get a chance to hear them, try to do so. I'll put them up against any speaker in and/or well over their price range. I jus...
How do you know when to replace a tube?
I'd replace the tubes if you can, have the old ones checked to keep for replacements. I had Quartets for years, and they are some of the best sounding (if not the best) Klipsch ever made. Good luck.
Buying Tubes Again; Maddening
Just replaced my beloved Linn Majik 140's with Lipinski 707's. All tube system and never going back to SS. I've never had a problem with the amp or preamp tubes. Everyone should listen to the Lipinski's, their sound is unreal right out of the case.
Why are modern arms so ugly?
Beauty is no excuse for poor sound.
Lipinski L-707 Grand
The system did have a sub, but it was used mostly for home theater. Very nice sound. I think the owner said the monitors were 3500 bucks each. I use Linn Majik 140's in my system, but if I could afford it I'd love to have Wilson Sophia's. I'm not ...
Lipinski L-707 Grand
I heard (I think) the 707's a few months ago in CD format. Left Center and Right. They sound fantastic. Big sound from a small speaker. Pricey, but money well spent for the sound that you get. I'd love to hear them 2 channel with my tube system. G...
