Windows Media Player
Al,I use NOD32 Antivirus 5, which has antivirus and antispyware. That's it. Was highly recommended and seems to work pretty well.I'm after it tomorrow. Hopefully find the cure. It's gonna be a wet one here this weekend, so I'll have plenty of indo...
Windows Media Player
First of all, let me thank you all. I'm going to try the items you've all noted above and hope that I find the culprit. And if I can't, I'm headed down to Magnolia Design Center where I got the A2s and see what they say.Yes, I have Windows 7 and W...
The best CD Player for the money
I'll fourth or fifth the Cambridge Audio 840C. Very nice resolution, laid back, and just plain fun in my system. Of course, YMMV.Also, McIntosh MVP871. Very nice and you get everything but Bluray. And you can get them at relatively bargain prices ...
Cambridge Audio 751 BD or Oppo BDP95?
I am very interested to hear more about the player you bought and of course hope that you order the Oppo 95 and put them head to head. I'm not sure why it hasn't been done already. I'm sure the video in the two is probably very similar. Just wonde...
Marantz BD7003 + CA 840 C dac - or - Oppo 95
Pdn: You understand correctly. Sound from the BD7003 to 840C. The 840 has a pretty good dac, but the two inputs only upsample to I beleive 192khz. Anyway, that is an upsampling frequency; no relation to your hearing at 20-20khz. But the dac in the...
Marantz BD7003 + CA 840 C dac - or - Oppo 95
I was also thinking about the combo of an Oppo 93 + CA 840C. Will that be as good as an Oppo 95?
Cambridge Audio 751 BD or Oppo BDP95?
Well, has anybody compared these two yet?
Cambridge Audio 751 BD or Oppo BDP95?
I'm surprised that there haven't been any comparisons yet. I am definitely interested in knowing the real differences in PQ and SQ between these two affordable players. I am currently using a Marantz BD7003 and running the sound through a Cambridg...
Mcintosh MVP871 vs Krell SACD
I have no experience with Krell. However, I did demo an MVP871 a year or year-and-a-half ago. At the time, it was a demo being offered to me for $3k. Because it was only super at music and really not much better at video and I needed both (or so I...
mcintosh mcd 301vs 201
I have auditioned the 201 and the MVP871. At the time of the 201 audition, I also listened to a Marantz DV7600. The McIntosh was only better in the upper reaches and really not by much. I couldn't justify paying $2,500 for the 201 when I could get...
Burson Buffers?
To the OP. I know you say you have low bass output from your new 840C. I also have a new 840C. The only upgrade I have is a PS Audio AC3 1M PC. I have never listened to the stock cord, so I don't yet know what difference the PC provides. Anyway, s...
Denon 5910ci VS McIntosh MVP871
Maybe you should get your dealer to let you take it home for a week. Then you'll be able to tell if it fits the bill. Look for a somewhat noisey CD drawer and drive mechanism (hopefully the one you have access to doesn't have it). Some of them hav...
Denon 5910ci VS McIntosh MVP871
Saw this thread a few days ago at work. I have never heard the Denon. But I have had the MVP871 in my system for a few days. The other universal player in my system at that time was a Marantz DV7600. For video, the Mc got the nod, but just barely....
Power Cords
Thanks all, I appreciate the comments. On the post above, I do not have experience with other modern power filtering/protection systems, but will read about the one mentioned above. I can say though that I have read nothing but good about the Shun...
Cambridge Audio 840C
I appreciate your reply. The other important aspect mentioned to me was that the power supply was supposed to have been upgraded and is quieter now. And it was mentioned to me that this was a rolling change. So no change in the model number.Bumpin...
