cassettes CAN sound better than vinyl.
@rfnoiseIt was cool to read about your MCS deck. I had several of them in the late 70s and early 80s; forget which models. They got me started in this hobby (really an old table-top tube AM radio did) and I've just gone further and further down th...
What do "audiophiles" use to judge equipment?
Ummm, my ears.
To Stream or Not to Stream
Just do it. So much already said. Access, excellent sound, ease of use, and did I say access? Access to so much content. I listen to all kinds of stuff that I never did before. And I only play CDs in the car. I've given away and/or sold many alrea...
Schiit Lokius anyone?
Maybe, just maybe, a few of the "no tone controls" manufacturers will pick up on this. A few, like Luxman, have been doing this a long time and I'm sure at least some of their sales were because of the inclusion of tone controls. Viva tone controls!

Do You Ever Find Yourself Unable to Listen To Your System?
@jay73 - I'm sorry to hear about your current situation. I find that sometimes I loose the will to listen, but I also found that if I will sit down and listen that I will usually find a way of escape, or even better yet, I'll feel better. It happe...
What is the sound level of Your Listening Room?
31 db pretty consistently as I just tested - 5:14P and mostly quiet. Interesting thread.
..so you think there's no need.......
@stereo5 Nice, friendly offer. This is the Agon that should be.
Is D for Dry? Class D...
@atmasphere The voice of reason steps in.
Is D for Dry? Class D...
@erik_squires Exactly.Don't just toss a bomb out there OP - labeling a whole class of amps as "dry and lifeless" is not based in any reality. There are good sounding Class D amps, I have one. The TAD M2500.
