JOLIDA 302B Tube Int. Amp. Opinions? I own a several Jolida's in (202, 302, 502) that I use in my various secondary systems. I agree with Trelja other than I prefer the Svetlana's but then I listen primarily to chamber music in my office using Linn Tukan speakers. I also insist that ...
CLASSICAL MUSIC "10 ALL-TIME" AWARDS I also can’t just have one per category so I’ve listed those that I think are works of the first rank. I also have listed what I think is a recording of the first rank for each.1. Composer: Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Monteverdi, Bartok. 2. Sy...
PS Audio PP is adding noise to AC lines I own two units and I would call their customer service. I just took both a noise sniffer and my scope to the line with my PP on it and mine certainly doesn't do that.
Isolation vs. Absorbtion Thanks. I also have a Theta Data III. The cabinet is quite susceptible to air induced vibration at mid bass frequencies. I have mine on a Zoethicus stand which sits on an oak plank base seperated from the floor by air bladders. On the stand the Da...
Isolation vs. Absorbtion To Redkiwi. If I recall correctly you have a Theta Data III. If so, what isolation approach do you use?
High End and Classical Music My wife and I listen to classical of all periods, Heavy Metal, Middle Eastern (My wife also belly dances)and Art Techno. I agree with the general drift of the comments above. You're lucky if your favorite music is Baroque and early music since it ...
Has anyone used cones on there Dunlavys' My Dunlavy SC-V's are on an ak floor with full 2x10 joists spaced 12 inches apart. The floor was originally built to hold a grand piano. I crossed the joists at the centerpoint of the speakers and used a basement jack on a solid 12inch block of oa...
Theta GenVa Upgrade I had the same "pops" you referred to on some units. It seems that on some of the units the buffers could not process digitized results of the the highest level (voulume) audio signals supported by the redbook standard. The problem also varied dep...
Favorite Classical Conductor Followup For more info on Carlos Kleiber try the following link http://www.thrsw.com/kleiber.html. Most conductors have a strong personal Reality Distortion Field. It's a professional necessity to commnad the orchestra. One one of the advantages of a recor...
Pipedreams... Any thoughts? I heard the large models about 8 months ago in an actual owners home large dedicated room with catherderal ceilings of inexcess of 12 feet. I don't quite understand Oahuans comment because just to set them up with sufficent wall spacing requires a...
Theta GenVa Upgrade I used the laser linque from my Data IIIa and it was excellent. When I wanted to go to the Sigtech DSP I found when I added the Digital Lens with Orchid interconnects the sound fairly equivalent, especially after I used 80 lbs of lead shot to abso...
Favorite Classical Conductor Followup All your points are well taken. I just believe that the marketing hype outstrips the product.
Favorite Classical Conductor Followup Interesting comment by Zander and one that I would agree with. Based on the posts in the conductors thread I bought the Zander Beethoven 9, 7 and 5. My personal faves for adherence to the score are Kleiber, Wiengartner, the 1938 Toscanini and Rein...
Anyone compare Dunlavy vs Aerial I own Dunlavy SC-Vs and auditioned the IV's. They are great speakers but they need a big room and a big amp. My room is about 8000 cubic feet and I drive them with 400 watt custom modified Melos Soloist monoblocks. |
