What Makes a Difference?
I do have s turntable, but I haven’t listened to it for 20 years.
Ribbon midrange pros and cons
I’m uncertain what Magnepan uses, but my guess is long, thin, planar magnetic drivers. (Though the new LRS may use ribbons - but if the conductor is bonded to a membrane, it isn’t a ribbon). I did some research and Magnepan makes "true ribbon...
Ribbon midrange pros and cons
PS Audio was working on an AMT midrange, but was unhappy with the sound. At AXPONA, they will be using a Bohlender Graebener Neo10 planer magnetic driver. There is a lot of inaccuracy bandied about when talking about ribbon transducers. A ribbon is...

Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Like I said, I'm not saying one way or the other whether you can hear a difference or not. Just curious to see if there are any measurable differences, even very subtle ones. Anyone else?Excellent question.
What is the best sound system you ever heard?
The Infinity IRS V speakers with $100,000 of associated PS Audio gear at PS Audio is a strong candidate for the best system I’ve ever heard.
Why Power Cables Affect Sound

Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Just an observation. Interesting conversation. I started reading it from the beginning but then the same ole pattern was obvious. There are those who have spent the money, did some serious listening, and have drawn some conclusions on if this or t...

This is a good question. I have an amplifier with a mechanical relay on the output. Replacing it with a solid-state relay might be a good move.
