Should Subwoofer Be Plugged Into Same Circuit?
It should be a law of audiophiles that everything should be plugged into one outlet. That is the best way to eliminate ground loops. And sometimes the only way.

@jim204 your excellent PS Audio Direct Stream DAC buffers and then reclocks the digital data. Any jitter earlier in the stream will not make any difference.

I had not even considered SSD, interesting that you say they have better sound quality. Music stored on and retrieved from an SSD will sound exactly the same as music stored on and retrieved from an HDD.  However, an SSD uses less electricity, an...

I've been thinking about this for a bit. Is PM claiming his power regenerators are not actually the best thing since sliced bread?? If what PMcG says about his power generators is true, there is no possible way a power cord going INTO a power gene...

I am quite fond of Polarity by the Hoff Ensemble on 2L recordings. it is an incredibly fine recording, and the music is creative, aurally and intellectually enticing.

Is there any Streamer/DAC/Preamp good enough to replace a dedicated standalone preamp?
@audiotroy Phomchick, you are under a couple of false assumptions. Not false, you just don’t agree with them...1: A straight line [wire] with gain is desirableOf course it is. If all of our electronics behaved like straight wires with gain, it wou...

Is there any Streamer/DAC/Preamp good enough to replace a dedicated standalone preamp?
If you plug a DAC into a preamp, doesn't the sound of the DAC go through the preamp? If you remove the preamp and run directly from the DAC, isn't the difference in sound removing the coloration of the preamp?Do high end preamps add magic fairy dus...
