Solid state warm up?
Quiet passages have much more low level detail with the BAT. There is more texture overall. When the music gets complex and louder it gets the mushy sound.
Solid state warm up?
It was a REF 2220 which does about 385 at 4 ohms. This BAT can do 300 at 4 ohms. I didn't think that would be a significant power drop.
portable ipod speakers?
I agree with the Audioengine suggestion. You could even get creative and put them in a carrying of some kind.

Music FIdelity A3.2 quick question??
The CR designation was for seperate Amp/Pre-amps only. Integrateds don't have the CR which means "choke regulation"
Speaker/sub for large room
Just thought of another idea:A B&K pre-amp with built in high/low pass crossovers, and a B&K amp in the 125 watt range. Keep the same speakers, and maybe add a sub later?

Computer output to DAC, which route?

Dali Helicon vs. B&W 805 and Paradigm Signature
I too am interested in this comparison.
More power or better quality power?
Thanks for all the info. Better integrated, here I come. Any suggestions other than the Krell?
More power or better quality power?
So, the problem remains: Is it wiser to invest in a new amp or integrated? Or is my choice of speakers to blame? Also, would using the NAD as a linestage be effective to drive a new power amp?
More power or better quality power?
I was just listening, and I know I need to do something. The system just doesn't sound right. CYmbals sound like a burst of static, and all the voices seem hollow. Midbass and midrange for the most part are fine, it is the upper midrange and trebl...
More power or better quality power?
My source is the brand new Cambridge Audio Azur 840C. It is an upsampling 24but, 384khz player.
More power or better quality power?
Thanks for all the input. The only other thing I'm trying to consider is if I need balanced inputs or not. mY new CD player has XLR outputs. SHould I try to get an integrated with balanced inputs?
