Risk in owning used McIntosh amps?
a friend told me recently that there is only one service person at Mac right now and several weeks back up for a service call. His Mac did break (402 ss amp I think) and he went to one of their many authorized repair center who did fix the problem.
Speltz/Atma-sphere & Merlins
with the Speltz you can increase the impedance to your heats desire and things will tighten up as you go however there is a sweet spot where you do not want to go higher as the sound becomes dry and too lean, you can definetly ruin the sound with ...

Robert & Alison-Raising Sand
I really enjoy this music - fun and moody IMOIt reminds me of Howie Gelb's Giant Sand. Howie is also in Lambchop for those who seek something similar these are both worth a listen (though without Robert or Allison)

Martkyl,I was at that show in Detroit Dec 1975 (I still have the ticket stub - $6.50) and Toots & The Maytalls had bottles thrown at them! Nobody knew who they were and Reggea and the Who do not mix IMO. FWIW I always thought the Who that even...
'they blew'em off the stage'
Ejvl752 you saw Steeleye Span? They are quite accomplished. TAS raved about their stuff for years as terrific music and quality recordings and I have to agree. Commoners Crown is a good one to start with if anyone has an interest.sorry to get off ...
Wilson WP 8 or Sonus Amati Anniversary?
FWIW a friend went from 802D to WP7 - the 802D is much warmer in the lower mids and bass (colored IMO, it distracted from the enjoyment) not nearly as satisfying as the WP7 which seems truly neutral and a reference speaker. Also there is no contes...
