Good speaker wire limited budget Spica Angelus
I would try NORDOST flatline cable...this is very transparent cable for the money...with a very open and airy presentation...and will extend the highs on your SPicas(I used to own the tc-50s) and adhance their strenghths: imaging and soundstage......
best speaker cable under $300?
The majority of cables have a rather "homogenous" sound in my estimation...and few vary greatly over generic copper "lamp cord" wire...harst but true...the one that really stands out IMHO...NORDOST...their SOLAR WIND and SUPER FLATLINE cables in y...
best monitor speaker under $1k, new or used
GMA Europas...
Good speaker compatability with NAD C 370
At this price point...I would go used...PSB stratus minis would be a good match...nice mellow, spacious sound for the price...I believe NAD and PSB share the same USA distributor if that means anything...
Audioquest Vs Kimber
I would have to say AQ spk cable is far from bright in my estimation...if anything...it was bit dark...with a big, warm sound with good depth...perfect for bright systems...maybe a tad dull in the detail department...but very musical...I have yet ...
REAL Sub/sat satisfaction? Can it be done?
Wow...would love to hear it...im going GMA Europas with HSU,Adire, or used SUnfire JR. myself...
Time coherence - how important and what speakers?
Dolphin...bass at low volumes is another key area...most people increase the volume for this reason alone...so full range (40 hz) frequency coverage would be one of my criterias for listening at lower volumes...or adding a sub...cheers
Recommend a good Monitor for my existing system
Run...dont walk....to buy the GMA Europas...I used to own the Quad 12LS...second choice:SOnus Faber...these sounded very good as well...
Time coherence - how important and what speakers?
Sean...take the SPicas...increase their legendary imaging, soundstaging, and transparency abilities...add an octave of bass... extend the highs a little...and welcome to the GMA sound...granted this comes with a higher pricetag than the SPicas(prob...
Green Mountain Europas....
Kclone...like any properly designed time/phase correct speaker...the Europas dont have a confrontational, "in your face" sound like many speakers do(and on first listen may be not as exciting)...however...over time you will appreciate their non-fa...
Time coherence - how important and what speakers?
Dolphin..also add Jim Winey of Maggie fame...hey...have to have a planar guy in a speaker discussion...even if his products are "out of phase"!
Amp for Green Mountain Europa
Roy J is GOD! The Europas are the most musical, involving speaker I have ever encountered...the only thing that beats it is probably the higher end GMA products! That being said...I tend to lean towards solid state amp with tube pre...best of both...
I need a female jazz vocalist. No Krall, No Norah
Holly Cole "dont smoke in bed"
2-Way Floorstander, $1500
If you have space...I would be tempted to try Maggie 1.6s...
Meadowlark Swift vs. VonSchweikert VR-1
CHeck out GMA Europa...I auditioned the above speakers...and went with this one...good choice
