Class D Amplifier(s) for SWARM Subwoofer System @atmasphere For continuity testing, you are just saying make sure that there is continuity for each of the three pin/socket pairs, correct? If not, I have a broken cable. I can test, but I would be surprised to have two broken cables (2 Dayton a...
Class D Amplifier(s) for SWARM Subwoofer System @audiokinesis Thanks for clearing that up about the Daytons! I will get back when I set up the CR-1.
Class D Amplifier(s) for SWARM Subwoofer System @audiokinesis Hi Duke. I’ll reach out to you offline to discuss troubleshooting on the Daytons. I should have reached out earlier to you about this concern. I am running two balanced outputs from my VAC Signature 2se preamp, one to a pair of VAC P...
Class D Amplifier(s) for SWARM Subwoofer System @atmasphere HI Ralph. I am puzzled too! I agree that the volume matching SHOULD be a walk in the park. I am also using Jensen transformers to convert the balanced output from my preamp to the SE input of the Dayton amps. It is the ISO-MAX PC-2X...
Crown XLS 1502.... real life test. Wondering how the XLS would work purely as a subwoofer amplifier???
Class D Amplifier(s) for SWARM Subwoofer System @atmasphere Hi Ralph. Good to hear from you. I actually do have two of those Dayton amplifiers that Duke recommends. Each amplifier runs two subwoofers in series, so the effective impedance is 4 ohms. But the output is way too low to balance my 8...
Class D Amplifier(s) for SWARM Subwoofer System @bdgregory See the new information above. So what is so special about these crown amplifiers for running subwoofers? I have only heard a crown integrated amplifier, and I was not impressed. But I am guessing this is a different class. What I ...
Class D Amplifier(s) for SWARM Subwoofer System I misrepresented the impedance of the subwoofers. They are each four ohms. So, running them in parallel would present a two ohm load. That will not work. Running them in series presents an eight ohm load.
Amplifier for Khama Mini Exquisite @steakster with the reviewer (Rick Becker, enjoy the music) mentioned WHICH Kharma speakers he was using! I just googled him and found his equipment list... he is using Kharma Ceramique 2.2 speakers. Still worth trying the combo.....
Amplifier for Khama Mini Exquisite @steakster Cool. I’ll check it out. I actually have these amps.
Amplifier for Khama Mini Exquisite @shkong78 Exactly! I have heard most people say that they detect no reduction in transparency. It’s hard for me to believe… But I guess I’ll find out. Those karma speakers are incredibly transparent! Thanks!
New Generation Class D - AGD Audion Mkiii upgrade BTW - I in no way think of the Audions as having tubes. I would be fine if the “glass envelopes” were opaque. I don’t really like that they glow with LED’s. But I am willing to overlook all of that further sound, and the convenience of the upgra...
New Generation Class D - AGD Audion Mkiii upgrade I had both the Audion II’s and the Atmasphere Class D’s at the same time and preferred the Audions. They are fast, neutral, delicate, well balanced and have a very black background. I found the Atmas to have a bit of graininess in the upper mids....
Amplifier for Khama Mini Exquisite I just purchased a JL Audio CR-1 active crossover and plan to try trying the XA-25 from 100hz up combined with my swarm subwoofer system.
Fyne F703...anyone owns the ? I am very impressed with the F703’s. They are quite lively and engaging with articulate base. A little bit forward in the upper mids, but not annoyingly so. I have not yet tried to tune them in, and I’m also planning on trying some Hijiri cables i... |
