Fleetwood Sound Company
i heard these speakers at Jonathan’s studio in Brooklyn a week ago. I was speechless. I never heard a sound like that before. I have hegel b&W 805 D3 combination and his setup sounded much broader, with better mids, and offered a more engaging...

thank you to everyone who responded. With due respect, I do wish that some posters read the whole post. Problem is that some music sounds great as it should but some does not and the question is, among other things, why such difference. I am now i...

i played Black Sabath first album, no issues at all. Deep Purple sounds a bit thin. will try others. thanks again, everyone, for helping me with this.

could you elaborate what makes you think bass is an issue? And why it would impact only some music but not others? thanks!I forgot to put that I have a sub, B&W ASW610.

Thanks for your response. i do. didn’t think of it. they are not in the same league, however, as the 805s. what would be my conclusion though if sound is better for rnr but worse for other music?
Raven Audio Nighthawk
tried raven with B&W 805s D3. did not like what I heard. There was a strong buzzing sound. amp got very very hot. I can't imagine using that in the summer. Had Rotel before and ended up with Hegel. Very happy. I would not recommend Raven.
Killer used integrated for <$500?
only one person mentioned Rotel. so, here is another vote for it. I prefer it over all other amps I had (Nad, Marantz).
Better Integrated Amp?
my reason to get integrated is that I did not want to deal with too many choices. I got one that allows me to stream and strongly recommend Hegel. Worth the price. My second choice would be Rotel. Used. I did not read carefully all recommendations...
$1000 bookshelf speakers with "recessed", "laid back" or "flat" mid-range?
i know what you mean about the presentation of Elac speakers. I compared them to B&W and much prefer the gentle and laid back sound they give. no reason to buy new. Used are great
Raven or Hegel?
actually, there is a nice used Luxman for sale at Audiogone for around 3k -- I am thinking out loud here. thanks, twoleftears
Raven or Hegel?
thanks for the suggestion. Raven and Hegel are around 3k which is a stretch already. Luxman around 6k which is way out of my price range, unfortunately.
best budget amp/preamp for B&W 805 D3s
thanks!
