Looking for Speaker Recommendations no mention of the so called BBC speakers? If B&W are too bright, Sterling or Harbeth or Rogers might be right
Looking for good recordings of female vocals I have not yet tried... I don't think these were mentioned. e Rhiannon Giddens Petra Magoni Bebel Gilberto Brittany Howard
Best streamer for a returning audio guy there were many posts, still I think that the simples solution has not been mentioned yet: Chromecast audio media like this one, https://www.ebay.com/p/217053957
Intergrated Amp suggestions for B&W 805d4 my 805 D3s were happy with a Rotel. Very happy with a Hegel 590.
High End Intergraded comparisons, Marantz, McIntosh, Levinson, Luxman.... i can't recommend Hegel enough. had both 390 and 590. Run them with B&W 805 and Stirling. More than enough bass. I do use a subwoofer but not for the blast but for the depth. Yes, it should have a phono stage but there must be a simple workaro...
Great Classical Recordings thanks for the Auryn recommendation. these quartets are great indeed.
Stirling Broadcast / BBC LS3/6 big_greg and chrisr, i am having difficulties locating appropriate stands. Resonant Woods which is in my state of NH is moving and will not be able to deliver for three months or so. Which stands do you use? thanks in advance,
Great Classical Recordings thank, simonmoon. I'll make sure to try Krenek. I too like new classical -- on Tidal, most Glass is awful. Reich is not far behind. It has been hard for me to find a really good recording. I did not ask that a symphony orchestra be EQUALLY recor...
Great Classical Recordings Savall's Beethoven Revolution is opening my eyes -- better to say, ears -- to classical music in a new way. Many thanks. will try to find and listen to others. SACD might play a role, not just the recording, I am beginning to realize. Glad I a...
Recommend an Entry Level Turntable (And maybe an integrated Amp) I want to second, go slow. I know much of the equipment you mention and don't think highly of it or of Bluetooth. there are more effective ways to put a system together. Also, set a goal precisely since 5k does not give you much room. If the goal ...
Stirling Broadcast / BBC LS3/6 thanks. i assume you started at the corners. a butter knife is a good idea. I tried with a credit card but did not get anywhere.
Stirling Broadcast / BBC LS3/6 i agree. Do you happen to know how to take the grill off? I have a cat and am afraid that it might damage it. have you tried doing it? thanks in advance,
Stirling Broadcast / BBC LS3/6 I ended up buying Stirling Broadcast LS 3/6. If you are reading this post and you are in New England area, I would not mind demoing it for you. I want to offer the opportunity to others that I did not have. You can find me via audiogon.
Ready For Digital Source...Computer? in place of Moon, you might want to consider Hegel integrated amps. I use a Mac and Audirvana. When Audirvana works, the sound is divine. |
