Power Amp for Extrema S The Extremas do many things that others dont but they dont move a lot of air when it comes to bass. They are very accurate though to an extremely low frequecy which makes them a perfect match for a Rel. I also use a Stentor. This spring I am hopin...
Soundstage - Too much? I admit, yours and Sedonds, arguments are impressive. Sedonds obseravtions and your argument about imaging off the floor is what got me rereading again. I found myself quating from what I remember reading and couldnt answer all of your questions. ...
Power Amp for Extrema S I just want to add I think its great to see so many people own this speaker. When I first started coming in here noboby realy knew of them. I am not overly pleased with what Sonus did to their line after they were bought out but after Tweeter star...
Power Amp for Extrema S I personally like the Classe Audio Ca-400. They drive the Extrema very well and are an excellnt match in sonic characteristics. The best part is it can be bridged so I started off with one and then later I added a second one.
Soundstage - Too much? These debates have me rethinking and rereading. "Reflection from flat surfaces""Like the light/mirror analogy, the reflected wavefronts act as though they originated from a sound image. This image source is located the same distance behind the wal...
Audion Silver: Any opinions? Always trust your ears.
Best "Modern/Contemporary" styled gear I love the look of the Sonus Faber Extremas and the Classe equipment. Very modern yet refined.
Soundstage - Too much? I think the problem lies in my inability to explain it. There are so many varibles to acoustics. I think when you are moving in the speaker you moving it closer to its sweet spot. You wouldnt put the speakers side by side and you wouldnt put them ...
Why Don't More People Love Audio? I think the price no obstacle systems are good for us all. Its there research and development that gets handed down to lower systes as the years roll by as they find cheaper ways to do things. I think if it wasnt for these companies high end would...
Soundstage - Too much? Sedond. We are never going to convince each other so I wont push anymore. You have very keen observation skills and although I cant convince you maybe I can help. I highly recommend The Master Handbook of Acoustics by Everest. Its a heavy read at ...
Does DigiVision Pic Enhancment work ? Another option is replacing the screen. You can eliminate those small dots that you see by installing a better screen. The draw back is you need more control over your lighting as if you had a front projection tv.
Internal Speaker Wiring ?? I owned a pair of Klipsch CF-3's. They were my last pair of speakers before journying into Hi Fi. I admit there were a lot of drawbacks but I enjoyed the sound. The horn tweeters really grabbed your attention.
Cumulative Effects of Cables? I would be very intersted in hearing the details from someone who has mixed cables and found it to be better. What brands did you mix? What were the benifits?
Cumulative Effects of Cables? I have found that using all the same brand of cable through out my system is best. I think that when you switch brands and designs they contradict each other. You get the worst of both worlds. There may be better solutions mixing the right cables ...
Soundstage - Too much? I was trying to break things down to simple terms. You are right that there is a limit. The further from the wall the speaker gets the less defined the image gets. It will only project so far. If it wasnt the walls you wouldnt get a bigger soundst... |
